Introduction

We continue my reader friends in the essential search of the enormous impact of the scientific-technological field in our lives, and thus we will continue consolidating the important conceptual aspect that until now we have used as fundamental base for the analysis of the extraordinary designs of machines made by the man, that is to say, technology is applied science.

The journey so far has been long, where we have been related to various machines or devices that have left their marks on all of us as they have fulfilled our desire to move with greater speed both by land, water and air, highlighting some of them as the motorcycle, car, helicopters, planes, submarines, among others.

My reader friends, as we have emphasized, the purpose of these articles is to be able to express in a generalized and precise way the enormous impact of the technological field in any aspect related to our daily life, and also to emphasize the extraordinary nexus with science since from this important field of incalculable knowledge technology has been and continues to be nourished.

As you can notice we continue to relate to the wave movement specifically with the generation of musical sound waves, and in this way I wanted to honor an extraordinary device or machine used as a music player which we call in his time as a record player, this device represented a system of analogical reproduction of sound waves.

If we relate briefly to the history of music players we have to mention the first device capable of extracting an audio signal which was recorded on a particular medium, this machine was called phonograph, and whose implemented technique consisted of the transmission of sound vibration to a needle which made grooves to a cardboard cylinder covered with tin and then by reversing this process was possible to reproduce the sound wave recorded, and thus paved the way for new techniques or advances that we know today.

However, I imagine that some of us could have the pleasure of meeting a record player like the one shown in the gif at the beginning of this article, another aspect that caught my attention to highlight was the implementation of a spiral curve recorded on a vinyl disc and it represented the path that should follow the needle of that device in order to reproduce the recorded sound waves.

Many of us perhaps thought that due to the circular movement made by the disc, the trajectory of the needle of this device was of similar nature, when in fact as has been expressed the needle followed a uniform spiral curve and such trajectory for the time allowed a longer recording time, then we can observe the uniform spiral curve and the same recorded on the disc in the following figures 1 and 2.

Figure 1. Uniform spiral curve

Figure 2. Spiral curve recorded on a vinyl disc

From the first device (phonograph), through this extraordinary system of analogical reproduction of sound waves such as the record player, cassette players, and also through the technology of the laser reader implemented for CDs, up to the present time, there are many advances of which we have been witnesses, but maintaining the fundamental principle in such devices which is none other than being able to record, reproduce and amplify any type of sound waves registered or recorded in certain media, nowadays most of them are of electronic origin, for example, the recognized flash memory known as pendrive, this type of device is considered as a storage unit and which implements a memory called non-volatile because it does not require any type of energy to keep the data stored in that memory.

Conclusion

My reader friends, we continue to observe our environment and thus locate any type of machine, tool or device that has left its traces among us, and that both its designs or creations are linked to the extraordinary technological advances over time.

On this occasion, we were in contact with an extraordinary device generally known as record player, turntable, turntable, among others, and it undoubtedly left a deep mark among all the people who had the pleasure of knowing and enjoying this technology, therefore, this device belongs to the family of players or sound equipment.

These equipments have been implemented to extract different signals or audio tracks recorded on certain media through a reader and generate musical sound waves, nowadays these storage media are increasingly technified, leaving behind the old vinyl records and CDs, and giving way to storage units such as pendrive and thus sound players capable of reading this technology.

Until another opportunity my dear and appreciated readers.

Hello @rbalzan79
It is interesting to go through history, and more of these instruments that so many have used to entertain us, among many other things.
Science, technology and simplifying many things in life go hand in hand.
But, the reality is that we rarely stop to think about what is behind all that, but thanks for sharing this post.

Greetings @josevas217, in our history we can find a lot of wonderful instruments or machines that have left their marks among us and continue to do so because thanks to technological evolution many other of these sensational machines are designed.

Thank you for your time and your important contribution. Successes.

I remember that record player technology, it's pretty old but it brings back a lot of memories. Greetings friend @rbalzan79.
