Greetings again my dear friends of this prestigious platform, there are many natural manifestations that we can witness and that the same man has managed to capture through science-technology and implement it in any type of device, tool or machine in order to streamline any of our daily activities.

In this opportunity we will continue to deepen in the applications of electromagnetic radiation, especially those that are imperceptible to our eyes, where we have already analyzed in general terms ultraviolet light, infrared, microwave, X-rays, gamma and radio waves, the latter we will continue to analyze in this opportunity by applying the methods of both amplitude-modulated and frequency-modulated waves.

In the previous section we talked about the possible paths that radio waves could take when transporting certain information, either directly from the antenna-antenna or by means of the reflection of these waves in the ionosphere. From a technological point of view, we can say that these information transmission systems are generally made up of two essential elements, the transmitter and the receiver.

The transmitter element is responsible for generating electrical oscillations at a certain frequency, and these frequencies are known as carrier waves and these waves by including the information we want to transmit is transformed into a wave called modulated, and as expressed this electromagnetic disturbance propagates through a material or elastic medium such as air, and thus reach the receiving element of these waves to then carry out a process called demodulation and be able to capture the information carried by a converter.

We can express that this modulation method was originated thanks to the enormous interest of man to improve the transmission of any type of information through radio waves, taking into account that a given carrier wave could be modulated in relation to its amplitude as well as its frequency.

Once we have observed a carrier wave, we can say that we can modulate it by varying its amplitude, and therefore, this carrier wave varies in amplitude according to the amplitude of the information to be transmitted, this type of technological method can be seen more easily in the following figure 2.

In the previous figure 2, we can clearly observe the modulation method of a carrier wave in relation to its amplitude, now it is important to visualize the other method described above, that is, the modulation by frequency, as we can see in the following figure 3.

Important essential methods in the transmission of any type of information through electromagnetic radiation such as radio waves, and for this it is important to note that the method that offers the highest degree of quality in both image and sound is the method of frequency modulation for either radio or television, likewise we must emphasize that the method of amplitude modulation is used when it is required to transmit information over long distances.
