TECHNOLOGY// Technological sensors applied in marine waste reduction.

Greetings dear members of the community @project.hope, the technological topic applied in the environmental preservation, has been a topic of vanguard for the developed countries, who somehow have been the main responsible for the environmental malformations that suffer our planet.
Therefore, through these lines of writing we will share what refers to the use of specialized sensors in the detection of flows of pollutants, concentrated in different levels of the waters of our oceans, which with the help of satellites, will allow the detection of pollution sources so that they can be reduced by promoting policies in line with the achievement of these objectives.

In this sense, research work has been developed where different organizations have joined forces in favor of environmental care, including The Ocean Cleanup, located in the Netherlands, Argans Limited, belonging to the United Kingdom and AirBus Space of France, who have achieved the development of a sophisticated sensor that is capable of detecting concentrations of marine debris below 1%, an advance that is promising to recover the spaces free of water pollution on the planet.

The technology behind this invention correlates with a first step that consists of the mapping of hot spots of contamination which will allow them to identify, evaluate and take the necessary measures that allow them to work in terms of eliminating the detected waste.

On the other hand, the sophistication of the equipment has allowed to go further and it is even thought to use it for the identification of areas where air accidents have occurred since it would allow to stop parts of the affected aircrafts. On the other hand, oil spills escape the device's radar and through it, it is possible to detect places where fossil material has been spilled.
Undoubtedly, this is an impressive technology that from my perspective will only be viable if the measures applied in the recovery of aquatic space do not threaten planetary biodiversity in other spaces and where the waste obtained is used as raw material in the manufacture of new materials.
It is not enough to identify the areas where waste accumulates, we must implement an action plan that allows the recovery and reuse of these materials. In this sense, I open a discussion topic, where I would like to know your perspective on the technological processes that are currently being developed and that somehow allow to take care and protect our planet.

This practice of detecting contaminant flows, even though, the theory prescribes to diminish the serious problems of contamination that cross the bodies of water on a global scale, nevertheless, in the practice discharges of radioactive material in the oceans still persist, let us hope that this situation in one way or another can be reverted, and this type of technologies are employed in a correct way.
