The IoT is quite a few years old from being created and implemented, but its massive adoption has not happened as expected.
This draws my attention a lot. When we look at the taste for technology that people have developed in the last decade, we could assume that current levels of adoption should be enormous. However, this is not the case.

The dream of the "Interconnected Home" is still a utopia.

I imagine the implementation of the IoT in the oil industry. In this area there is constant monitoring of thousands of sensors. All stages of production (exploration, exploitation ...) are controlled from instrumentation rooms, where thousands of data from sensors located in the installations are interpreted.
The IoT would take oil production to another level.
