Sharing doubts regarding science, religion and the economy
I bring a publication as a human living in a society that currently seems to be at a very disadvantage with respect to a tiny fraction of genetic material that they have called Covid-19. In view of the many questions that arise, difficulties in believing in some realities, rumours are already beginning to be heard from some people, who have told me in particular that they do not believe in this virus, that they do not know anyone who is infected... As a scientist and with medical friends in different parts of the world I have information that yes, this is real. Even if some people don't want to assume or believe it.
Many people say that you have to entrust yourself to God and have patience, the truth is I'm tired of hearing that, but I respect people's belief, it's normal and that gives hope, which is something necessary for human beings. I'm very aware of that. But as a scientist I say to myself what about science? it's not responding adequately to this disease.
It's not that I'm a "man of little faith" as some might say, but I think it has exposed the weakness that religions and science have at times like this. There are already great religious gurus speaking out all over the place, perhaps some of the important ones are very well guarded in their big houses with provisions for months and even years?
And science, even with so much technological advance, after 6 months has not been able to achieve any effective method, not even close to something that will alleviate the disease, I find it a little hard to believe. I don't want to think that there are interests behind all this and that they prefer to lighten the burden of the states by decreasing the population, I don't want to think about that, but it is sometimes difficult for me not to.
There are rockets with satellites going off into space, wars in different parts of the world, a largely confined planet, and what is the response of science to this? Technology has been used to create great inventions that help in the diagnosis, use of genetic engineering for this, wireless systems that can detect at a distance alterations in people who are infected, to avoid or diminish the direct contact of health personnel, but a cure is not even seen nearby.
It continues to hit the world's economy, further impoverishing the poorest and strengthening the strongest. It is a struggle that is being waged without any equity of possibilities or options to make this reality more bearable in some countries.
If we look at the details, the economy is in bad shape, society is changing its behaviour, there is a lot of human loss, especially among the elderly, and a lot of ambiguous information is running around, surely there is more that is not known about what is behind all this, than what is known.
In short, let us hope that science in full use of the current technological tools can provide a forceful response to all this, and that it is this year that this complicated stage will end. At least in terms of achieving a cure or a vaccine, but the economic and social damage that has been done goes a little further than resolving the disease.

I am a Christian. When I speak of God, I am referring to the Creator from which all originates.
Not everyone defines their god in this this way.
That said, I believe a lot of uncertainty can be dismissed through clarification. Communication (lack there of) has been said to be the cause of war.
RE Virus, I believe there's a key aspect that isn't being made public. Nothing to do with a particular political party. Something that the 1 percent of 1 percent have pulled a veil over.
