In the mission to colonize space, but for what?

avatar

Hello community of Project Hope today I will not talk about cryptocurrencies, nor blockchain, today I want to talk about a topic that is being discussed for a long time, but that at the present time has taken an immense rise, in view of a great race that human beings have to continue conquering spaces, but in this case beyond the planet earth.

Now, I wonder if it will really bring us benefits, what is the human being looking for by coming to the moon or to the planet Mars?Because if we judge by what he is doing in good measure on planet Earth, and all the consequences that the whole process of industrialization has brought to the world, I would like to know then what would be of the solar system, to see it only here in the closest ones if part of the human beings really ended up colonizing the other planets.

The fact that there are satellites in Earth orbit, and we can communicate despite being in different parts of the world is thanks to this technology, however, if I must think that once these satellites end their life they continue to circulate around the earth, could we say that this ends up becoming space junk? or these artifacts once they have been used are returned to the planet to be dismantled? are questions that I ask myself, around this whole new technological process.

I remember that when I was a child, I intended to be an airplane pilot or an astronaut, then those dreams changed, of course, but I still have the curiosity to know what it feels like to be in zero gravity, and even to be able to contemplate the planet Earth from space, something that I believe that many people could be captivated - or even frightened - just thinking about it, but this same desire that I could feel to know all that is out there is what drives so many others, who do have the economic resources to project themselves to make those space trips.

Elon Musk, that well-known tycoon, we know that he is one of those who invest the most in such a project. But at the same time I say to myself, what is really going to happen in the future?, when that becomes a reality, because the most probable thing is that the human being with the use of special technology can be hundreds of thousands of kilometers away from the earth, and be able to return as if it were a trip from one country to another.

But at the same time I say to myself, what is really going to happen in the future, when that becomes a reality, because the most probable thing is that the human being with the use of special technology can be hundreds of thousands of kilometers away from the earth, and be able to return as if it were a trip from one country to another.

But that is still decades away, just as I think about this possibility of knowing other worlds (literally) I also think that from now on we must look for ways to make all this technology less polluting, and that if we are going to travel the universe it must be to build and not to destroy.

These are some reflections I wanted to share with anyone who likes to read me

Thankful in advance for your support.

These are interesting reflections my friend @josevas217. These years of space exploration have left garbage circulating outside our atmosphere, I remember a scene from the Disney Wall-E movie, where when leaving the atmosphere a ship must go through a layer of space garbage, it also made me think if that would be the future. Exploration is something that we carry in our DNA, and space exploration will continue, hopefully we can leave a clean and not garbage-filled legacy.

Yes @emiliomoron, I agree that explorations are part of our DNA, and I'm sure they will continue, there are many powers that be interested in that.
It is up to us to hope that things will not be so bad and that these explorations will bring something good to humanity and the universe, although I have my doubts.

Greetings friend @josevas217

Good theme that you bring to us in this opportunity, from my point of view, and perhaps my approach is a little biased, I consider that it is not a theme of exploration to know the solar system, it is about taking possession of the riches and energy sources that do not belong to us, and even so, we believe ourselves absolute owners, if we have already broken the balance of our beautiful planet, what we can intuit is that these explorations will end up destroying the planets we visit.

Hello @lupafilotaxia
Yes, I share your biased view, as you mention it, is the human being in his constant desire to be in control and take advantage of what they have and even of what they don't... I don't think it will bring any good, at least not for everyone, but for a few who will benefit the most.

Hello @josevas217 I think at some point I will come to weigh something similar, but so far nothing happens, we only know that there are those who can travel into space and reach other countries, but the rest is uncertain. Maybe in a few years other generations can travel to Mars or meet the moon, I think we will not be here to see it.

Yes, it is a race that we will surely not be able to see, although there are great advances in this aspect, there is not the possibility of being able to have certainty in if it will be possible to arrive or not.
