For several days some countries around the world have preventively suspended the use of AstraZeneca's Covid-19 vaccine.
This long list is headed by countries such as Denmark, Ireland, Thailand, Norway, Iceland, Congo, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain.
The reasons for this preventive suspension are due to several reported cases of people who received the vaccine and then presented with blood clotting complications and other patients with decreased or lowered blood platelets, which could cause bleeding.

Precautionary Hold

Several authorities in countries such as Germany, France, Italy, Denmark and others have announced their decision to suspend the use of AstraZeneca's vaccines as a precautionary measure.

The World Health Organisation (WHO), through its spokesman Christian Lindmeier, informed that they are carrying out investigations and that once they have the results, they will announce their report.

Meanwhile, the head of the Oxford University vaccine group that developed the vaccine, Professor Andrew Pollard, told the BBC:

"There is very strong evidence that there is no increased risk of blood clots in the UK, where the most doses of this vaccine have been given in Europe."

According to AstraZeneca, more than 11 million doses have been given in the UK alone.
Certainly, since the start of the studies for the development of the vaccine by the different laboratories in various countries, there has always been concern about the side effects, and one of the groups that issued reports related to the progress of the vaccine was precisely the group from Oxford University.
On the other hand, AstraZeneca is one of the laboratories that has obtained the most contracts, around 3009 million doses, for India, Latin America, the European Union, the USA, the United Kingdom, the WHO Covax programme, among others.
We can only wait for the results of the research and the decisions that the countries will take in response to them.

Hi @ janettyanez, The laboratories that have developed the vaccines against COVID-19 to my way of seeing things were more concerned to see who developed the vaccine faster than the actual result that this could yield, although they complied with a series of required protocols the speed with which they were developed generated uncertainty in the population about its possible application.

Very good article, best regards

Hi @carlir
If there was a lot of uncertainty from the beginning because of the speed with which they were made, and now there are side effects to consider.

Wow that is very alarming, imagine getting vaccinated to get rid of the Chinese virus and you get another worse side effect. it is very difficult to know which vaccine can really help, these vaccines seem like they are only being tested on humans.

Hi @lanzjoseg
It seems so my friend, I particularly consider that the times were not enough to rule out all the side effects.
Thanks for your visit and comment.

Hello @janettyanez!
I was not aware of this news. I think we were all waiting for a vaccine to come along. However, thoughts are different now, there is a lot of uncertainty as to whether they are really effective because of how fast they developed them and what their side effects are. In the meantime we will continue to take care of ourselves. Best regards.
