The Condition of Technological Invention in Africa

When it comes to technology, African nations appear to lag behind and I do not think it is because we do not have people who can think or who have bright minds but we have low infrastructures in place for fast developments and even those who have tried to come up with beautiful inventions are usually not encouraged.

Through this post, I will be sharing some of the inventions that came from Africa with you, after these inventions they are either just used locally as the inventor becomes a local champion and never makes any money from it because there is no fund to push it into lime light or the invention dies a natural death.

A 20 year old engineering student MPHO Makutu took out scrap items and developed a robot from it. Even if he had come from a very poor background he never allowed his background to limit his ideas as he tries to make technological inventions from waste items.

Another technological invention is from a Nigerian of 22 years old Emeka Nelson, he was able to invent from plastics and nylons amongst his inventions is a fully powered hydro electrical generator that does not require oil, diesel or any form of fuel, the only requirement for the running of the 60watt capacity generator is water and a small battery to start. This inventor also designed a machine that can convert waste nylons and plastics into oil.

15 years Old Doe from Sierra Leone produced the first radio station in his community, entertaining the people of his community through this radio station from the comfort of his room.

Unfortunately, these inventors always have similar stories to tell, their ideas get used by some politicians who quickly discard them after they are done with them or no one even gives them due attention at all.
A friend shard the story of an African Inventor with me who designed a flying car years ago, this inventor believes greatly that his ideas will receive support someday so he takes the invention to one major routes where politicians and high-classed people regularly pass through. He rings a bell informing people of his invention and what this invention could do but days turned into weeks, weeks into months and gradually months turned into years without anyone giving him attention.

Now, countries like United States are coming up with the idea of flying vehicles and the news is everywhere but we had a man who had this idea in Africa lots of years ago and no one encouraged him.
It is just the same sad story every day and gradually inventors in Africa are not even proud to be called inventors any longer, parents discourage their kids from calling themselves inventors and tell them to get a better paying job.

Greetings from Venezuela, it is notorious that in our countries politicians take advantage of people, use them and then discard them, but there is something that gives us a light at the end of the tunnel and that is the new technologies that allow us to connect with the world
