At what point does artificial intelligence become a risk to human existence?
The effect of artificial intelligence is displayed in every area of our lives these days, the world without the existence of artificial intelligence (A.I) was really slow to progress and smart events, until artificial intelligence came up and technology took a great leap, everything regarding to technology began to change dramatically.
The change is what majority of human race embraced as it made life activities much easier to organize, and everything around the home became smarter and easy to operate helping people to save time and get more focused on activities that will generate more income.
Actually men are getting more committed to the development of these machines and everyday men are losing out on the fun in their lives to make sure that machines get better and smarter. The fear that these machines can become highly self-sustainable and may not need humans again to help them get developed or the fact that these machines may just decide to completely displace humans after they get more intelligent is highly questioning.
According to technology expert Elon Musk, he is of the opinion that the danger that artificial intelligence offers is worse than the danger of nuclear weapons, humans fear nuclear weapons greatly and we are aware that nuclear weapons can cause serious destructions but there is a warning from a technology expert himself about artificial intelligence, he considers artificial intelligence far more dangerous than these destructive nuclear weapons.
Occurrences like harmful drugs, car accidents and every other thing that causes societal damage to humanity has always been to a specific set of people but artificial intelligence has the power to cause societal change within a very short time. When machines are made to be subjected to humans, I believe we are still on a good page but with the continuous job done on making artificial intelligence get smarter all the time, we are definitely entering the regime of sustainable artificial intelligence which might not require any human permission to do anything.
The moment artificial intelligence gets to a stage where it becomes self-sustainable, it will get concerned about being a master of itself although so many people have argued strongly against the possibility of this occurrence, so many experts like Elon Musk have also tried to make us see reasons why the uncontrolled and continuous level of smartness put into Artificial intelligence is not healthy for us
It is an interesting discussion.
Of course, with Musk, his intentions are not always so pure. He came out against unbridled AI and announced the start of Neuralink (and the raising of a billion dollars). So he isnt always doing things out of pure altruism.
As for the core of the issue, I think ultimately we will see the merging. We have always merged with technology and this will be no different. We always closed the gap between us and knowledge. Today we are within a foot or so of the intelligence.
Down the road, it will be within us.

Hi @futurekr - an interesting post. AI is such a fascinating subject and I am sure it will dominate our future. We do need to find strategies though to prevent it from taking over. Nuclear weapons remain a threat but the biggest deterrence is our own human fear of mutual self-destruction. I don't see how AI would have that fear.
