Welcome to DUPAR, a Precious Business (PART II)

Hello dear friends, today I want to continue with my experience in a business that opened the doors for me since I arrived in Bogota. I had already told you in my previous publication what we sell in it, from candy to drinks, I told you about my work schedule and now I want to tell you a little more about my duties and how we manage the cash flow in DUPAR.

When I started I spent little time for me to assume a great responsibility in the business, being the only employee I was in charge and pending many things, for example, cleaning, customer service, attention to suppliers and the implementation of orders, both the day after and day, which implies having a sense of what is in the local and what not, if there is a product expired or in poor condition, ask for change and make the claim.

There are many things, fortunately it is a job that did not remain big and I put myself in tune practically to the ace 2 weeks of having begun. Another very important point

THE CASH REGISTER

In any local the box or the machine that registers everything that is invoiced is a very important piece, here all the products are invoiced or at least most of them since there are products that are sold by unit and they are not registered, for them we have a notebook where we write down everything that is sold daily that cannot be registered in the box, ( that is the things by unit ).

Also with this system we can visualize how the sales of the day are going, how the sales were the same day but of previous years and thus to compare if it has improved or they have lowered, of course that also depends on many factors (thing that my boss sometimes does not understand) but good, always it is comparing the sales of the day with the one of the previous year.

In this computer we also register the products once new merchandise arrives, that is, I place the order and once the supplier brings me the products I include them in the system, with their respective codes, as well as it tells us how much of a product is coming in and also tells us when it has left and how much is currently in the business. When you perform this procedure, you have to be very careful that what you are entering coincides with what is in the store, because many times we enter 10 quantities of a product and there are only 8 in the store (so what happened there), we get confused or the merchandise was not verified, or something was simply sold and not invoiced, it is an error that can be misinterpreted in many ways.

image.png

As you can see, it is a very complete system that will help us, if we have a business like this one, to be organized and keep track of our products. We will have more control.

image.png

As you can see in the images the amount of merchandise handled is quite a lot, you have to know the brand, the quantities that each one brings, the prices of each one, both wholesale and retail, so it's a little job. Nothing easy for many, but I got used to it quickly, honestly I felt very comfortable in that place.

When you do things with love everything is definitely easier, you don't see it as a sacrifice, obviously one gets exhausted by the amount of hours, but if you like it it is more bearable. In spite of having the profession I have, I have been able to prove that I am capable of doing many things and adapting quickly to them, definitely when there are needs one faces any challenge.

I think that all this that my fellow countrymen and I are going through is a very big challenge but thank God we have been able to do it. I know of many who have not done very well unfortunately, but I know of others who have even been able to establish businesses. I'M SO HAPPY FOR THEM.

In the next issue I will tell you more about DUPAR, now there are things to tell and things to share.

This is a business that will give us a lot to talk about.!!

All images are authorized by my boss!

Thank you for reading me!!

Taking the risks of starting your own business is an attitude that only the brave have. In the very near future, I want to have mine.

Good luck with yours, @franyeligonzales! I wish you the best.

Hi @franyeligonzale is this business of yours based on a franchise model?
Also who is responsible for the expiring products. Do they stay in your inventory or do you get a replacement.

Hi, how are you? No, it's not mine, I work there, most if not all products have change, if one expires the supplier is responsible for making the change in the company! That's the advantage, because as everything there are products that do not leave as quickly as others.
