What Technology will Look Like in the Next 5 Years

avatar

Did you remember that before 2020, a lot of people were still testing drones for delivery but with 2020 and the pandemic, the saying “the future is now” stands as drones were used to deliver goods to people, AI were used to check the temperature of people at airports, contactless payment method became a thing to reckon with and so on. If all this could become evident in about a year, what do you think will be the reality of technology in 5 years?

I am going to be as realistic as I can in this post. First, we will not be having flying horses in the next 5 years unless horses are going to mutate but there are going to be a few technological advancement that we will have to adapt to and a lot that will become part of our daily lives. 5 years is a very short period o I will be as true as I can to myself.

Renewable Energy

I am not going to say the world will be dependent on renewable energy fully in the next 5 years as this is a matter of geo politics. The reason why this isn’t certain is that a lot of countries still make from crude oil. Countries like Saudi Arabia, and other major oil producing countries aren’t following up with renewable energy also, countries that still power electricity with hydro power still use crude oil as source of energy, countries like Venezuela use hydroelectricity but still uses crude oil and to power dams. In the next 5 years there will surely be countries dependent solely on renewable energy but not all countries will be using renewable energy. Wind and solar will be the major source in energy grids overtaking hydro.

Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality

I will not be saying impossible things in this post, so I will be straight. Virtual Reality has the tendency of getting more traction to compare to augmented reality as gamers are enjoying the tech of virtual reality. With Google and other tech companies coming up with various VR sets, there is a high chance that there will be 1 in 10 people who owns a VR set in the next 5 years.

Bionic Limbs, and link implantation

With Elon Musk working on Neuralink has shown that in the future neural chip implant tech will be possible. Bionic limb has become a thing that a lot of people use in replace of their main limbs for people with limb problems like losses.

AI becoming more intelligent

Just like the way Bixby and Siri are doing currently, in the future AI will be more intelligent and will be able to discuss with humans directly and understand virtually everything we say. AI will be able to recreate codes for themselves and build more machines.

IN CONCLUSION

Technology will be human’s greatest asset in the next five years. Although it comes with its negative sides, it will also come with its positive sides. Thanks a lot for reading my post, what do you think will be the face of tech in the next 5 years?

We tend to overestimate technology in the short term and under estimate it in the long term.

I think we will see progress but a lot of this is likely late 2020s as opposed to mid decade.

Hello friend, you are right technology has taken over the world, wherever we go even in our homes we are full of great advances. I believe that in 5 years we will be able to see much more than what we see now, of course there will be third world countries that will still not have many of those advances, but the truth does not surprise me!

The situation is not even, some places will live in advanced setting while others will continually lag behind.
