Environmentalism as a science

Seeking to develop environmentalism as a science, it makes us explore the scientific and bibliographical horizon. We have understood that studying biology or ecology does not define our normal relationship of humanity with itself and with the environment (ortho-environmentalism), so we must explore the sources that allow us to really understand it.

In this opportunity we will comment on what we find as a source in Vladimir Vernadski's vision. This author developed in his theory, that our planet evolved or had succession in three clear periods:

1.- Our planet at the mercy of the elements, the energy, the means, in the primordial period of the geosphere, to give way to the other two.

2.- Then appeared life and ecological succession, living beings helped to shape the face of the planet, is called the era of the biosphere.

3.- Perhaps as a superior part of the same phase of the biosphere, species with individuals with intelligence emerge, which finally dominated humanity, owner of the transforming ingenuity, a phase that Vladimir Vernadski calls the noosphere (noos: from the Greek for intelligence).

For environmentalism as a science this vision makes us understand humanity in some way in its biological and ecological meaning. Our species belongs to the biological diversity, but its linear taxonomic study does not discover us in our ecological niche and our transforming role of the areas we occupy, with more or less density.

More difficult is trying to find out how our populations are inserted within each ecological community and each ecological level, we do not know studies or visions.

It seems that we think we are out of the environment, from another location as if we were on an observation balcony or as if we were looking at a fish tank..

When humanity developed naturism, conservationism, biology and ecology, environmentalist or ecological groups, also each of the creations or developments was made from a position outside the community, outside the ecosystem or other ecological level.

In the view of many, it is as if the populations of humanity are not integrated and interrelated with the other populations of other species in a clear notion of community or as part of an ecological level.

This goes on and on, despite the reference to the Stockholm Summit in 1972, which declared that we are not out and we do not own the environment but one more factor. It is a vision of a supranatural noosphere.

Making an analogy for the development of the basis of environmentalism as a science, if we consider our planet as an organism, the taxonomy and the ecological levels (ecosystems, biomes, bioregions, biosphere, planet) would represent the anatomy. While the world of relationships, ecology would be physiology. The noosphere, as explained in the previous paragraph, would have no place in this consideration.

The anatomy and physiology of the previous consideration of the planet Mother Earth as an organism, would be null in the first period of the development, modeling and presentation of the terrestrial face of Vladímir Vernadski.

For the second (biosphere) and third period (noosphere), the modeling, transformation and presentation of the face of the planet by Vladimir Vernadski, depends on the presence and development of each species and interrelations in the second phase, the biosphere, their occupations, devastations, pollution, their activities, constructions and are integrated into the geosphere as compartments or part of the biogeochemical cycles, and then add both humanity and their close relatives, for the development of the noosphere, third.

The taxonomic and the ecological evolve together, but in the third phase (noosphere), the modeling and transformation of the face of the planet increases with the truth, a pact called society that can create a cosmovision of confusing this virtual scenario of truth with the noosphere, an alienation that can explain the vision of seeing other species and ecological levels outside of cities as strangers to humanity.

The immediate consequence is the distancing or rupture of humanity to reality (the biosphere, energy and living beings) or its ignorance, establishing society as the main thing of its existence.

Once the period of alienation is established, there is a need to develop environmentalism as a science in order to really fit ourselves as members of the ecological levels and ecological communities in which the population of humanity is located.

This is a very bright reflection and I share it,We must focus on having a better planet with clean energy and biodegradable things.

Hello friend, an interesting topic, we human beings should be more connected with nature, I am sure that if this were the case the planet would be much healthier and free of pollution. Thanks for sharing it. Greetings!
