Apple just introduced new iPhones and a new HomePod!

Today Apple presented a bunch of new products and innovations, the most important being the introduction of the new iPhone 12. There was no news about the Macs using Apple's own silicon which is something I was expecting for today but I guess we will have to wait for a few more months.

The first product Apple presented today was a new HomePod mini. If you don't know this product it is like a smart assistant for the home. It provides high-quality sound for your music and it is integrated with Siri and several smart home devices. The coolest features they presented for this product was the possibility of doing intercommunication, which allows people to send audio messages to each other just by talking with the HomePod. This device looks fairly cool and can modernize a house.

The most important product was the new iPhone of course. The iPhone 12 has a new Ceramic Shield that makes it more resistant than ever before. It finally has 5G capabilities which will allow certain users to enjoy super-fast internet speed, they also improved the cameras as usual and this is especially true with the iPhone 12 Pro, which is the only smartphone capable of filming and editing Dolby Vision video. I know there are movies that have been filmed using iPhones as the cameras, but each year the capabilities of this device are getting much more powerful and there was even an Oscar-winning director saying that this new iPhone 12 Pro would be an excellent tool for many directors who can't afford super expensive equipment.

They also presented new MagSafe products that attach to a new magnet inside the iPhone and charge its batteries. There is both a smaller version of the iPhone 12 and a bigger version of the iPhone 12 Pro. All of them have better cameras, screens, processors, and graphical capabilities.

When it comes to gaming, Apple announced that one of the most successful video games of all time is coming to iOS, League of Legends. I don't personally play this game but I am sure it will quickly take its position at the top rankings of the App Store the moment it is released.

I was expecting this even to last around an hour and a half and to see information about the Macs with Apple's own processors but the only products that were presented were HomePod and iPhone. Perhaps the pandemic has delayed several of Apple's releases and the Macs with Apple's silicon might have suffered from these potential delays.

The presentation wasn't as fun as I was expecting it to be, it felt reduced and very improvised but again, this is probably due to changes in Apple's agenda as a result of the pandemic.

If you want to check the entire presentation you can do so in the video at the beginning of the article.

Thanks for reading!
