What an interesting and unique topic :)
The space industry, the Europe and the America has been planning to land humans in Mars between 2024 and 2033.
I wonder if upcoming global recession will delay those plans by few years or not. Elon Musk and his business may close down very soon, since he is relying mostly on investors and their support. Without really creating much of a revenue. Other projects similar to what he does will face similar problems.
The trip from Earth to Mars takes about 7 months to reach which is one of the major concerns of NASA because people going on such a journey will have to cope with unique sets of sickness such as space sickness, mental stress, weaker muscles and eye problem.
Ehm. What about radiation? It's so far the biggest problem. One that noone seem to know how to solve. How to protect living being from radiation is space?
You've mentioned radiation on the planet, which is cool. But the one in space is even more troublesome in my opinion.

I asked myself the same question while reading through the subject, but the scientist seem confident of the fact that they could work on it as they are improving regularly, so I think time will tell indeed if humans will be able to survive there or not.cheers
