Currently the battle that has been unleashed between the world and COVID-19 does not see its end, since the appearance of this deadly virus the World Health Organization together with the countries of the world have joined efforts to combat this virus some with less interest than others but have done the impossible to stop the infections and deaths of millions of people.

Now, in their eagerness to win this battle, millions of dollars have been invested so that laboratories from all over the world, together with their scientists, begin to study this virus in order to obtain a vaccine that guarantees the end of the pandemic and thus reestablish normality in all countries.

At present, many vaccines have been developed in an attempt to curb the coronavirus, among the vaccines that are most driven by their results in the three phases of implementation that must be carried out for their subsequent application in humans on a massive scale:

As is well known, many of these vaccines are already being used in different countries around the world with the firm purpose of winning the battle against the coronavirus, the alarming thing is that some of these countries have already reported side effects once people are vaccinated, this has generated in the world population a certain degree of distrust and therefore fear to get any vaccine.

Recently, eight countries of the European Union (Denmark, Austria, Norway, Iceland, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia and Luxembourg) have taken the decision to suspend the use of the Astrazaneca vaccine, due to deaths caused by thromboembolism in people who have received doses of this vaccine. The experts ask the population to be calm and confident because, according to the Nius news agency, despite the cases of deaths registered, there are more cases of thromboembolism in unvaccinated persons than in vaccinated persons.

Vaccines are the first step to eradicating or minimizing the propagation of virus in the community, but it will not end the pandemic. We need at least a herd immunity either developed with or without the vaccines. I read before that herd immunity is long shot for a virus that quickly mutate and adapt to its host. What we can do rights now is to prevent the number of cases to spike up.

Hi @juecoree, very certainly this virus will not disappear overnight I reckon we are going to have to coexist with it for a while longer, but at least with the advent of the vaccine there is hope at the end of the tunnel.

Greetings.

This is the problem when you rush to release something not fully tested in the market.

Greetings @chesatochi, it is correct that in the eagerness to release the vaccine as soon as possible to gain recognition and not really for the health of society is that this kind of thing happens.

Thanks for your comment.

The process of creating a vaccine takes a long time and is usually yearsPersonally, I would not get any vaccination that was not tested and guaranteed with at least 2 years of tests.

I believe that with an epidemic as serious as this one must have a process of investigation and tests that guarantee 100% effectiveness.Anything below that seems like a risk to me, and the truth is I would not board the boat to test such a vaccine.

Greetings @reinaldoverdu, you are right, the process of developing a vaccine is long because its research process and application of the scientific method is very rigorous, therefore each step in its development must be fully tested so that no mistakes are made, as happened with the AstraZeneca vaccine.

Thank you for your comment.

Other vaccines such as the Russian Sputnik V and the Chinese Sinopharm, to mention two that have begun to be used in Latin America, are missing. The truth of the matter is that vaccines do not eliminate the pandemic but control it. Vaccination is not an immunization against the virus but a way for the body to create defenses against it and fight it more efficiently. Sometimes false expectations are generated or wrong information is spread about the efficacy of vaccines and, as you mentioned, the secondary reactions that they cause are overlooked, according to the physical conditions of those vaccinated. @tipu curate 2

Greetings @joseph1956, we certainly need to wait for the reactions of the Russian and Chinese vaccines in Latin America as these vaccines have been very questioned, so far no cases of negative reactions have been reported but it is too early to determine that.

Thank you for your comment and respective support.
