Drones and their importance in agriculture
Drones are aerial vehicles manned by pilots from the ground or autonomously following a programmed activity, this technological equipment requires control, a ground base and a pilot that complies with flight protocols.
Drones are used for a number of purposes, one of them being agriculture. In many countries where agriculture is the most relevant means for their economy, these technological equipment can be of great help since they can be used to monitor large extensions of land.
In agriculture it is necessary to obtain adequate information in real time to be able to quantify and decide at what time and place irrigation, planting, fertilization and harvesting of any crop is required, drones with their great advances can help producers to make decisions about their crop.
One of the great utilities is the taking of photographs that become maps that show the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), this is an index that shows the state of health of the plants, the closer the value of the index is to one (1), the healthier the plant is.
For the above described the importance of drones in agriculture lies in the diversity of functions that these equipment can offer to help producers in their crops, and solve any anomaly that may arise and thus minimize the economic losses that commonly occur at the time of planting and thus maximize production.

Sauludos @joseph1956, very accurate your comment the drones have been demonized because they have been sold advertising as weapons of war but you can also take advantage in other areas as is the case dela agriculture.
