Will Amazon Automation Race Increase Unemployment?

avatar

Do you know that Amazon has more robots working for them than so many companies around the world? The company has over 200,000 robots working at several fulfilment centers and delivery department. IS Amazon trying to colonize the Robotic industry? We all know that Amazon has been accused of being a monopoly trying to be its own supplier and distributor if possible. In other for Amazon not to pay for delivery to FedEx and other delivery companies, the company started acquiring its own vans, truck, fleets of planes, and drones, currently the company has now faced robotics.

The Amazon Robot and Human Synergy

With the increase in demands and rise in expectations, Amazon started the machine to human where machines help humans to carry goods from one location to the packing region in the fulfilment center. This started in 2012 and since then, although it has reduced the numbers of employees that could have been employed into the company, it has also improved productivity and the company hopes to become a fully automated company in the nearest future. Currently, Amazon has about 40% of its workforce as robots and it hopes that in the nearest future, it will be able to automate every single order.

Amazon has bought a lot of robotics companies so as to reach its robotic goals, companies like Dispatch, Kiva Robots which is now Amazon Robotics, Zoox and many more. From automated delivery robots, to robotic gears worn by employees, and so on. Gradually, Amazon is becoming a fully automated.

Will Amazons 200,000 employees lose their job soon?

With Amazon being very valuable and having such a large number of employees, it is no doubt that having a fully automated company would affect employment as there will be little people who would be gainfully employed thereby causing the number of unemployment to increase, although a lot of people do not agree with this but tell me, what do you think about full automation in every industry starting from Amazon?

Amazon seeks to become what we call in the crypto world a DAO.

The goal is to have an automated system, from order to delivery. This means no humans involved in the process. The robots in place now are just the start.

Drones or whatever automation they determine for the last mile of delivery is going to be interesting. They are investing loads to figure it out.

Good article, I think this will only create more jobs as the new digital vendors will have a faster and more secure service.

Hello friend, it is understandable that every day technology covers much more ground, but I hope that does not mean the loss of work of so many people. For that reason I think that now more than ever we should have several income of money.
