Huge dependency on my phone

avatar

It has been almost 3 days since my phone got fire. I was unable to recover anything from my phone. It completely turned into ash except for the metallic back cover. Since then it has been a little difficult for me to manage everything without having a phone in hand.

I do have an alternative phone where I inserted the duplicate sim card and started using it. But still, I don't feel very comfortable for the past two days. Good that I have already placed an order for my new cell phone yesterday. I was about to do it the day before yesterday but I couldn't access any of my cards or bank account without my mobile number as OTP is sent to my mobile number.

I hate Vodafone now

I applied for a duplicate sim card. They mentioned that the duplicate sim card would get activated in 2 hours' time. I was thinking that 2 hours was manageable. But then they mentioned that only the incoming calls would get activated and my messaging services would be blocked for 24 hours. It was so lame. I tried contacting the customer care service and tried speaking to multiple people but they said they can't do anything about it.

I would have been okay with this 24 hours thing but when other networks like Airtel can give a duplicate card in 15 mins time and activate it in 15 mins, I was wondering why Vodafone alone was so stupid to keep my number blocked for 24 hours. They anyways do all the security verification on me. This is something that frustrated me so much. After my current plan gets over, I'm going to be porting to some other network. Not just me but my whole family because they have been already complaining about the network having issues with calls, internet, etc.

I agree that even if I move to a different network, the customer service may not be very great because there are problems everywhere. But at least I can give another network a try and maybe it can end peacefully for me.

Dependency on my phone

This is the most important thing that I was observing for the past two days. I would like to remove this dependency on my mobile phone. I have noticed that I have been very restless without my mobile phone. I guess the same happens for most people. I guess this restless feeling would go away when I'm all settled with the new phone. But I would like to remove this dependency on my phone.

Apart from the fact that I'm not having a proper phone right now, the fact that I don't know the data loss impact is what is disturbing so much right now. When I get my new phone and when I start installing the applications one by one that is when I will get to know how much data I would have lost. Two more days to go.
