Visiting Outer Space (The Mars Exploration)

avatar

A lot of people have dreamt of living in other planet except Earth, which might come to reality in a few years from now. The space industry, the Europe and the America has been planning to land humans in Mars between 2024 and 2033. Just like Elon Musk has said he has plans to start his own colony Mars but first, astronauts need to visit the planet to be sure if they are habitable for humans. Currently, Astronauts have been looking at the Red planet and finding more about it including the presence of the second independent origin of life. Mars, currently invaded by human’s robot is the next place that space scientist, technologist and astronauts to visit.

The red planet can easily be spotted in the night sky when viewed with a telescope as a constant dot of red moving through the heavens. The rocky planet is the most similar to home, spinning at almost the same speed as earth but 40 minutes longer than the regular time on earth. It was formed almost the same time with earth about 4.5 billion years ago.

Concerns about Travelling to Mars

The trip from Earth to Mars takes about 7 months to reach which is one of the major concerns of NASA because people going on such a journey will have to cope with unique sets of sickness such as space sickness, mental stress, weaker muscles and eye problem. The opportunity to fly to mars from earth happens every 2 years as the two planets orbits and synchronizes every 22 months which means if the time is missing, another flight can only happen 2 years after.

One of the major concern about travelling to mars is exposure to radiation on the red planet which could increase the risk of developing cancer later in their life. One of NASA’s main objective is to send humans to space and bring them back safely.

SpaceX Colonizing Mars

Elon Musk’s SpaceX plans to colonize a part of mars and plans to send two cargo spaceship to mars in 2022, if the spaceship lands successfully, the company will be sending 2 additional cargo spaceship and 2 crew ships in 2024. The goal of the first trip to mars is to find the best source of water while the second flight is to build a propellant plant on Mars. SpaceX plans to build a big city on Mars so as to have humans on two planet.

Questions

Will humans be able to land on Mars?
Will humans be able to live on more than one planet?
Do you think Astronauts will find genesis of life if they land on Mars?

I am sure space exploration will get us to Mars soon and I also believe we are close to be able to make the ability to have sustainable life there. Probably for quite a small colony though and at great expense. If we find minerals that are worth mining then things could change. Money is a great motivator which is why we didn't go back to the moon. There is nothing there of financial worth.

Beyond Mars is currently a dream unless we concur the ability to travel large distances. Cryostate sounds like a fantasy but perhaps the only answer.

Great post. Upvoted.

Mars has been space industry's project for years and with the hope that getting human on mars means endless possibilities. Travelling to mars is still being hoped for. It might be possible that private firms will send humans to mars before NASA.

How can we protect anyone from space radiation during this journey @awah?

i don't think it's yet possible.

Thanks for the contribution. 10 years is a good estimation since project mars has been on nasa table since immediately after landing the moon but hasn't been a reality yet.

The NASA planat the moment seems to be that on any spaceship, they will monitor for radiation, like solar flares, and then when necessary build a temporary shelter. It doesn't sound ideal but their challenge is to do it properly they need heavy shielding which isn't great when they are trying to keep the spaceship as light as possible.

When on Mars they could build their own shelter from natural resources they find on the planet.

I agree, it is one of the big challenges they need to overcome.

Hi @ajewa

Hello friend, good questions, I will answer as follows:

Questions
Will humans be able to land on Mars?--- > Yes.
Will humans be able to live on more than one planet?---> Yes
Do you think Astronauts will find genesis of life if they land on Mars? Not.

I believe that the origin of life is: Wherever there is life in the universe, that life form is the origin for each one.

At this moment the origin of life or human species is at stake.

Saludos.

Thanks for the response. I am also not sure there will be signs of life in mars. But since it has Water ice beneath the ground, there is a possibility that it may contain living microbes

Certainly, we are in the era of increased knowledge. Exploring Mars may certainly become possible. Let's keep our fingers crossed till we get sufficient evidence for human supports.

Thanks for your response @uyobong. Humans really want to tap the resources in mars so they might possibly go there to get it once they can find a solution to the radiation problem.

I remember way back in primary school, we were taught that humans could not survive in any other planet except earth, and if going there will make them risk having cancer later in life, why try what i term unnecessary (just my honest opinion though).

You sure do now that we live in a period of evolution, things that seem impossible several years back are now possible through technology.

It is only a question of time and willingness to get there; the essence is a dream that will become a reality.

I start to like the type of contents from your community that I check with Steempeak. I will evaluate after 1 or 2 weeks if this does not drain too much my voting power. ;)

Dear @ajewa

What an interesting and unique topic :)

The space industry, the Europe and the America has been planning to land humans in Mars between 2024 and 2033.

I wonder if upcoming global recession will delay those plans by few years or not. Elon Musk and his business may close down very soon, since he is relying mostly on investors and their support. Without really creating much of a revenue. Other projects similar to what he does will face similar problems.

The trip from Earth to Mars takes about 7 months to reach which is one of the major concerns of NASA because people going on such a journey will have to cope with unique sets of sickness such as space sickness, mental stress, weaker muscles and eye problem.

Ehm. What about radiation? It's so far the biggest problem. One that noone seem to know how to solve. How to protect living being from radiation is space?

You've mentioned radiation on the planet, which is cool. But the one in space is even more troublesome in my opinion.

Have a great monday buddy,
Yours, Piotr

I asked myself the same question while reading through the subject, but the scientist seem confident of the fact that they could work on it as they are improving regularly, so I think time will tell indeed if humans will be able to survive there or not.cheers

Hi @ajewa

Very good lecture.

Will humans be able to land on Mars?

The advances in science are so many and so advanced that I am sure that if possible, what happens is that this already depends on several factors, such as the health of the person, how resistant they are and the reaction that their body will have. when I'm on another planet. I suppose that Elon will offer with the purchase of the flight to Mars, a training package and complete physical exams to see if that person can make the trip and live there. This is more complicated than it sounds.

Will humans be able to live on more than one planet?

I am sure that yes. Tech Is avancing at great steps, so this Is soon.

Do you think Astronauts will find genesis of life if they land on Mars?

I do not believe him, but surely they will find a way to make the planet habitable, which would solve the current problem we have of having an overpopulated world, I think that Elon's wishes point there, my reading tells me that he has presumptions of being the king from your own planet and I think you will.
I am dramatic and I also believe that we are facing the birth of the 1st supervillain of humanity, hopefully not, but I see in Elon the next Lex Luthor.

I love the space world, the stars, planets, the final frontier. I'm a science fiction lover and I loved your post about going to Mars.

It's a long trip, seven months. I guess we'll have to wait for scientists to improve rocket engine technology and invent FTLs, or engines with speeds above the speed of light; for the trip to be commercial.

I'm sure humans will land on Mars. The question is: will Mars end up as polluted as the Earth?

For humans to live on other planets, there must be many conditions necessary to support human life. Not only oxygen, gravity, the effect of other planets, satellites, rotation speed, temperatures, etc. There are many things that need to be resolved long before we begin to be established.

Great post!

Thanks for sharing :D

Going to Mars sounds quite interesting, but the ability of humans to survive there is really questioning.
How about the issue with radiation, do they have any plan on how to control that yet?
