My entry for Art and Science, an LMAC Special - Team up with STEMsocial | Dark Matter

(Edited)

I got notice of this challenge through @lemouth's very mysterious announcement. I felt a bit overwhelmed at first, but then I told myself that it's all just to have fun. And that made things a lot easier. And fun it was indeed!

The piece I'm submitting is only using the base material below:

While I felt inspired to use my iPad and do some freehand drawing myself. Here's my first ever art-related challenge entry:

While my submission isn't really what you call a collage, but heck, I had fun either way. And at the end of the day that's why I'm here on Hive ;P

I'm really curious what you guys think of my work. Let me know what you think!

But it is a collage. Check out some of the entries over the last months and you will see you have done brilliantly! Art is intuitive, but I'd love to know the concept that led you to create this.
Art and science truly do come together in your piece.

Hi, thanks for you comment and encouragement! I'm not very familiar with the topic of dark matter, but I thought it somehow is related to the expansion of the universe. The piece somehow portrays and expanding universe starting form a singularity at the bottom of the picture. I wanted to make it a bit swirly by adding those rays that are going around the cone.

So far for some wild imagination :-)

I agree with @agmoore. That's a brilliant entry (a dark matter icecream? :D ) I like it!

Thanks! I also associated it with an ice cream cone :P Dark (matter) chocolate perhaps...

What would be better than some dark matter balls to go with this ice cream? (too bad I didn't think about it earlier today ;) ).

Congratulations! You have been awarded with the European Hive Mechatronics Network Badge for your initiatives surrounding mechatronic art or anything related to circuits, robotics, electronics, computer science, telecommunications, systems, control, and product engineering. The European Hive Mechatronics Network Badge connects maker enthusiasts and 3d printers around Europe with the Hive Blockchain to create an efficient network for spare parts and fosters collaboration. Promoting a European Hive Mechatronics Network is an initiative that aims to create an efficient future supply chain using the hivewhat.com map and possibly a future cloud for uploading 3d scanned files. This can create a way to conveniently find the closest proximity to a decentralised spare part manufacturing unit in the network.
