Ladies and gentlemen, a new adventure is coming! This time I find myself on the second highest mountain in the town of Loures, just under 30 kilometers from the town center. The terrain is quite uneven, but full of trails and waterfalls ready for your next challenge. If you love hiking and are passing through Portugal, you might enjoy this hike with a great reward: an excellent viewpoint where you can see all the way to the Tagus River.🧭🗺️
Senores y senoras se viene una nueva aventura! esta vez me encuentro en la segunda montana mas alta de la localidad de Loures o poco menos de 30kilometros del centro de la ciudad, una zona bastante irregular en cuanto a su terreno y llena de senderos y cascadas listas para cumplir tu proximo desafio, si eres amante del senderismo y estas de paso por Portugal quizas te pueda agradar esta caminata con una buena recompensa, un excelente mirador donde podras ver hasta el rio Tejo.🚩🧭
There is no official marked trail to accompany the route and reach the viewpoint and the "geodetic marker," which would be the highest point of the mountain. Today we will try to conquer the "Serra de Montemor," or mountain range in translation. It is among the top three highest in Loures, below "Montachique" at over 400 meters; the rest are below 390 meters. I will leave you a list of "trilhos" (trails) so you are more organized because you don't know the area as well as I do.🌍🌲
No existe un sendero oficial marcado para acompanar la ruta y poder llegar al mirador y al "marco geodesico" que seria el punto mas alto de la montana, hoy trataremos de vencer la "Serra de Montemor" o sierra en tranduccion, se ubica en el top tres de las mas altas de Loures por debajo de "Montachique" con mas de 400 metros el resto es inferior a los 390 metros, te dejara una listas de "trilhos" para que estes mas organizado porque no conoces la zona como yo.🌄🏕️

If you follow my route you literally won't get lost, but if you're inexperienced with trails this page will help you📍
In my personal opinion, all the trails in Portugal are best done in spring, as the rivers and waterfalls have water; summer is very hot and everything is dry.📍
Hiking boots are essential; the terrain is rugged, very dangerous and slippery, especially with mud. Trekking poles are also necessary. The area is cold, so bring warm clothing.📍
Bring plenty of water and something to eat; the viewpoints are excellent for picnics while enjoying nature.📍

Todos los senderos de Portugal en mi opinion personal es mejor hacerlos en primavera ya que los rios y las cascadas tienen agua, verano es muy caliente y todo esta seco📍
botas de excursion es indispensable, el terreno es rustico muy peligroso y resbaladizo y mas con barro, igual bastones, la zona es fria trae ropa para abrigarte📍
trae mucha agua y algo para comer, los miradores son excelentes para hacer picnic mientras disfrutas de la naturaleza📍
I don't know if you noticed, but the Loures area is mostly made up of country houses, except for the town center. The rest is very rural, and the area is popular for its farmland and livestock. To this day, the locals make a living from one of the oldest professions in the world. It's a quiet, peaceful area, with no tourists.🌍🧭
No se si notastes pero la zona de Loures en su mayoria son puras casas de campos, a exepcion del centro de la ciudad, pero de resto todo es muy rural, y es que la zona es popular por sus terrenos donde hay cultivos y cria de animales, hasta el dia de hoy los lugarenos viven de uno de los trabajos mas antiguos del mundo; es una zona tranquila, con mucha paz, sin turistas.🚙⛺
We pass through several villages, some larger than others, such as Guerreiros and Pai-Joanes, which are villages in the middle of nowhere, very isolated, and the few people who live here are elderly. You have time to buy supplies to take with you in these villages because further on there will be nothing!🚩🌍
Vamos pasando por varias aldeas unas mas grandes que otras como por ejemplo guerreiros, pai-joanes que son aldeas en medio de la nada bien aisladas, y las pocas personas que habitan aqui son personas de la tercera edad, hasta estas aldeas estas a tiempo de comprar insumos para llevarte porque mas adelante no abra nada!🏕️🌄
Time to enter the mountain🧭/ Hora de entrar en la montana🚙
Now we're going to climb about 120 meters to a volcanic rock formation hundreds of millions of years old, possibly created by tectonic plate movement. This is a beautiful viewpoint, but it was an optional stop I made since we're not yet in the Montemor mountain range. I'm not going to give you the exact location because it's too dangerous for inexperienced people. If you want to risk it, "alto da pena"🌍🚩
Ahora vamos a subir unos 120 metros de altura para una formacion de roca volcanica con cientos de millones de anos que posiblemente fue creada con algun movimiento de las placas, esto aqui es un hermoso mirador, pero fue una parada opcional que hice ya que aun no estamos en la sierra de "montemor". No voy a darte la localizacion porque es demasiado peligroso para personas sin experiencia, si quieres arriesgar "alto da pena".🚙⛺

This is where I spend a lot of time meditating! It gives me peace and tranquility. The path is still long, and there were two hours left. I wanted to take today more relaxed than anything else, and this area brought back many memories. I first explored it 10 years ago, and that's when my passion for hiking began. So, technically, this was my first trail.🌍📍

Well friends, we're completely in the dark here, and we have to use Google Maps, since we need to locate the "Montemor viewpoint" which is over 300 meters high and from where we can see the river and even the Vasco de Gama bridge🌍🌄
Bueno amigos aqui estamos totalmente ciegos, y debemos usar el gmaps, ya que tenemos que ubicar el "miradouro montemor" que esta a mas de 300 metros de altura y desde donde podemos ver el rio y hasta el puente vasco de gama🏕️🌲

And here, my friends, we've reached the top of the mountain! I truly enjoyed this adventure. Remember, we're 350 meters high and we've just conquered the second highest mountain in Loures.🌍⛺
