Recently, Elon Musk appeared in a podcast with Joe Rogan. If that rings a bell, well, he had appeared on the same podcast a few years ago and that's when he smoked weed on air. He had received a lot of unfair criticism for the same.

Anyways, it is always nice to hear his thoughts about the world, technology, his vision for the future, and that sort of thing. I always walk away with great new insights and perspectives about the path of humanity.

This new podcast was insanely awesome. Musk revealed a lot of stuff about the companies he is involved in and what they are planning for the future. One particular one that I found really intriguing is what's happening with Neuralink.

If you didn't know already, Neuralink is a company of Musks' that is developing brain implants that might just prove to be the stuff of science fiction. It could cure brain-related disorders and give you instant abilities like in that one popular movie, Matrix.

Neuralink - Ushering Human 10.0?

I have always believed that if there ever comes a time where humanity merges with technology, in any of the ways possible, it would essentially evolve us to the next level. Instead of nature doing so, we would have taken the matter of evolution in our own hands. We would artificially evolve to Humans 2.0.

However, now that I know what Neuralink is planning, I think that we will go from our current stage to being Humans 10.0 in a single jump. If this happens, I can't even imagine what the future world would look like.

Musk says that Neuralink is planning to release a very small device that would get implanted in your skull. It would interface with the brain with tiny electrodes to help us do a number of things.

Theoretically, it could fix anything that is wrong with the brain. So, it could restore sight, hearing, limb functionality. In fact, the implant would let you do these things much better than before!

It could even fix any brain injuries like say, fixing the damage done by a stroke. It could prevent epilepsy from happening. It could even help prevent Alzheimer's and Schizophrenia.

As if all that wasn't enough, we could potentially get superhuman capabilities as well. We would be able to communicate telepathically with other humans, learn a new language just by downloading it into your brain, access internet from your brain, and in the more distant future, we could even reach symbiosis with artificial intelligence itself!! The mind boggles at all the things that could happen and the path it might lead us to!
