Two monetary systems coexisting, one bullish and the other one clearly going down.

Today I will be spending the day at the hospital as my father is going through surgery. Although it is not a complex surgery, he is 84 and anything can get complicated at this age.
We left the house very early 5:30 am to drive town with no traffic as he had to be there at 7:00 am.
I decided to take the computer as I knew I would have to spend several hours waiting before he would be taken to his room after the intervention so I took my laptop with me. I also took my urban bike as I parked the car in a parking lot my parents still own in the city and rode the bike back to the hospital.

We are in one of the biggest public hospitals in town, had not been here for several years, and was surprised to see there are phone/laptop power chargers, so while waiting I am sitting in the middle of a corridor waiting for the doctor news.

I started working with my cellphone data and after a while, I started experiencing some slow speed, and then I realized there was free wifi in the building so I hooked to the internal hospital network.

This is an old hospital, rooms have TV sets with paying systems charging you €4,5 per day, but at the same time, you can bring your computer, cellphone, or tabled and work or watch anything for free using the free wifi provided.

After seeing the old TV in the wall with the paying system underneath it, you realize we live surrounded by old and new technology at the same time. A TV set fixed in a wall broadcasting traditional TV shows with their schedules and commercials to fund the expenses, and a portable network where "almost" everything is free in terms of content.

This is a clear example, crypto will not replace traditional fiat for decades, both systems will coexist as they are, but little by little mass market will enter crypto and fiat will be left by older users and probably institutions, just the same way you can still find TV sets in any home and a bunch of mobile devices (laptops, tablets, and cellphones) people use to watch what they want, when they want to, without having to check a schedule to do so.

You can ask any teenager which media system they prefer and probably 100% will choose the new one, the same way they will choose crypto two or three years from now. It is just a matter of time to see crypto everywhere and fiat only in the old economy.

While your time frame may be a little bit optimistic, I really do think this insight is interesting.

It's like having parallel economies indeed. Yesterday I saw Dionne Warwick announcing 'her team' wanted her to publish an NFT and ALL THE REACTIONS on that tweet were in terms of "NOOO don't do it NFTs are bad!"

Meanwhile I open crypto twitter and if they were a fan of her they would cheer her on and support her all the way.

Such a weird split in realities.

I'm crossing my fingers for your dad @santigs! Hope the operation goes well and he'll recover soon.
