RE: The opportunity in "the Great Reset" to not build back better, but build better for all

As long as the first love remains to be self enrichment at the top, we will remain stranded in the mire at the bottom.
Yes, we have to get out there and become active, not to enrich ourselves, but rather to build up and empower future generations (children) with the skills to become contributing adults.

As I stated in my post today, we are struggling to find an affordable, accredited, coding course for children at poor schools, as the costs for decent courses are astronomical. The only way that we are going to overcome this in the future is for all of the educational supplying companies, or organizations to allocate a 20% free disbursement to their products.

The "Great reset" should be, "Don't repeat the old reset"

I think a big part of the challenge is working out what "contributing" means in an automated world. It is a fundamental change in our culture that we haven't seen possibly ever before at this scale. What do we do when we don't have to work?

The cost of education is going to keep rising globally, as there are less jobs. The competition is going to get harder and it will be increasingly for the rich - at least in the areas that can actually get work.

Two scary scenarios here and in my dreaming mind everyone will live on a basic income grant.
There will be no more salaries and all foods will be converted into pill form.
Everyone will wear one piece body suits made of materials that can regulate temperatures and withstand viruses. Their will be different levels of people and the colors of the suits will distinguish the levels.
None workers green, workers blue, management silver and the executive levels red.
You are welcome to add to this as you like!

Education has always been the thorn in our flesh. So many see education as their personal banks and even now the prices are way beyond the reach of millions.
We spend billions here on education and yet our economy was recently downgraded once again to B-.
Education needs a great revamp. I have never used many of the subjects that I was forced to study and education needs to be aligned to the new technological systems of the world. A rich person and a poor person could perform equally if they both have identical basic beginnings in education.

Definitely headed for a dystopia! :D

I think there is the possibility for decentralized education, especially since there will be so much mobility of wealth. This way, there can be "trustless" education systems, rather than relying on a central point of most likely, failure. Education systems rarely move fast enough these days to keep up with needs.

I cannot agree with you more and it is slowly starting to happen here via the private schools.
Yes, they are expensive, but they at least do not use the official government curiculums.
Jan van Riebeeck landed in the Cape on the 6th of April 1652, as we were taught at school, but Jan van Riebeeck has never featured in any part of my working life. So I don't know why we were taught that at school.
Except maybe to remind me about my birthday which is also on the 6th of April :)

I guess the drive to teach history is to get people identifying with their past in some way - but I have never really understood what the practical use of it is in the way and what they teach.

And to beat it all, history was one of my favorite subjects :)
Oh, and of course Biology, as that young teacher had a body that would make a thousand Camels drool lol.
Just being honest here you know!

hheheh - I had a pretty good English teacher.
In an after class conversation, I discovered she had been a cage dancer in London :)
