The new iPhone SE - my thoughts

Apple have recently announced their new second gen iPhone SE. It's their budget range iPhone that starts at $399 USD for a 64GB model. Not sure why they named the model SE, as there was already a previous SE model. I was a bit confused as first when googling SE, as there were many articles referring to the previous SE.

Branding aside, I think there a lot to like about the new iPhone SE. For starters, it costs a lot less than the usual iPhone new releases, whilst packing in most of the latest tech that should last you a few years. The Second Generation SE features a 4.7-inch Retina HD LCD display, A13 Bionic chip, Touch ID and a single 12-megapixel camera. It also offers wireless-charging and supports fast-charging (making it capable of up to 50 percent charge in just 30 minutes). The new SE also offers Dual SIM via eSIM, which enables you to have two separate phone numbers on a single device.

It's been a few years since I first got my iPhone 7, so I think this is the perfect opportunity for me to upgrade. The overall specs and pricing of the new iPhone is a perfect match for what I've been looking for, as it is relatively small, the latest tech at an affordable price, and it brings back the touch ID which I prefer.

The new iPhone SE will be released on April 24, with pre-orders starting earlier today. I'm definitely going to get one shortly after it releases.

How about you? What do you think about the new iPhone SE? Will you be looking to get it?
