Living With Covid19, An inevitable reality?

Hello Everyone,

Am Nathaniel and am coming to you today from Ghana, in West Africa. Today i want to discuss an issue that almost everyone seem to neglect or perhaps do not want to look at it or consider the fact because it seems to be unpleasant or perhaps we just wish things would not be like that. I want us to look at the reality of living with COVID19.

Yesterday, the 31st of May, the President of the Ghana gave a Nation's address and in the address we learnt that after meeting with various stakeholders of various sectors a consensus was reached concerning easing restrictions on social gathering and so we are to try to get back to our normal lives and lives peacefully with Covid19. Well some saw thing coming whiles others vehemently believed that things ain't going back to normal soon because a cure has not been found and people still die from the virus every once in a while.

But the truth of the matter is that this virus like so many other viruses that took the world by surprise and have never been completely eliminated yet, it is here to stay. Even when we finally figure out a cure, the study of micro-organism has taught that they one of the smartest creatures in this world, the reason being that they adapt very quickly so quickly that sometimes by the time we have a way to tackle them they have already found a way to maneuver their way around. So definitely there's going to be a mutation and we going to get new strains just as it happened with the SARs virus.

So what is going to be the way forward? It is time for us to psych ourselves and focus more on protecting ourselves and our neighbors by enforcing the protocols being put in place, the earlier the better right? In my language the elders used to say a slap that is yours is better you take it early because you will definitely receive it and in the same way when one sees the friend's beard on fire it is pertinent they keep water close lest their catches fire too. The fact that you country has not start easing restrictions does not mean it won't happen, no country can depend solely on themselves for every single thing. In this new global village we live in, we depend on each other for growth and development

So on the 15th of June Universities students are going to school in Ghana and churches are to resumes with 20% of their maximum capacity out of which 100 are to be in the building at a time. I still do not see how social distancing would work out in these situations but as i said we cannot stay home forever. So am writing this post to inform you of what is to come in the very near future. It is almost inevitable if there is any chance of surpassing this. So Lets get ready to fight this battle together.

Stay safe, stay vigilant. I know that there are people going on about not wearing mask but the most important question to ask is, " what is the capacity of the healthcare in the country?" I suppose it's very natural that we want to fight for our life instead yielding to death.

Definitely, i don't see how anyone would want to put their life in harms way when there is an alternative
