In 2002 Elon Musk, a South African engineer, created the SpaceX company in order to lower the cost of space flights and to make possible the creation of a permanent colony of human beings on the planet Mars.

En el año 2002 Elon Musk, un ingeniero sudafricano, crea la empresa SpaceX con el fin de abaratar el coste de los vuelos espaciales y de hacer posible la creación de una colonia permanente de seres humanos en el planeta Marte.

The first brilliant decision was to reuse the rockets after each mission; traditionally in spaceflight used both in space missions and to place satellites, all the intermediate stages of the rockets were scrapped which was a waste of millions of dollars.

En SpaceX todos estos dispositivos se reutilizan, los tanque de combustible cuando se agotan se desprenden del cohete principal y vuelven a la tierra, para aterrizar sobre una plataforma de unos metros de diámetro o incluso en una plataforma flotante en medio del océano curiosamente llamada "Of Course I Still Love You" (por supuesto que aún te quiero).
