Hello friends of Hive

Greetings community, today is a day to celebrate those super creative people such as left-handed people, it does not mean that we who use our right hand to write are not creative but it is a reality that for them their brain has that ability more developed.

I think that they develop their creative side more because; they really have to manage to live in a world made for right handed people, my grandfather who in peace rest in peace was left handed, but he could write with his right hand, he tells me that the teacher would hit him with the ruler if she saw him writing with his left hand. On the other hand, my brother is left-handed, but he is right-handed when it comes to writing, and at the time he was in elementary school the teachers no longer had those archaic ways of teaching. I don't consider them totally left-handed, they are ambidextrous.

So let's dedicate this post to the left-handed protagonists on their international day.

  • Here is a #Collage Created in canva Representing the lefties I most love: Romulo, Estrella and Angélica, all 3 are great medical colleagues.

You can notice how Angelica uses her left hand to grab a cup of coffee, it turns out that there are left-handed cups, as well as left-handed stores.

On International Left-Handedness Day
Every August 13, since 1992, International Lefties Day is commemorated, a celebration created by the Lefties Club to honor their lifestyle.

Lefthandedness is the formal name for left-handedness and has quite a history.
It is based on the Latin word "sinistra," meaning "to the left." But as time went on, it began to accumulate associations with evil that persist to this day.

Over the centuries, left-handedness has been associated with weakness, impurity or evil. Today, few would consider the left-handers among us evil, but they do have to endure numerous inconveniences of a world made for right-handers.

It is believed that about 10%-15% of the world's population is left-handed, in fact if we go to a classroom, out of 24 students at least 1 of the children is left-handed, and teachers always find them a different desk.

In a 1996 study, researchers at Harvard Medical School found that orthopedic surgeons, librarians and mathematicians were mostly right-handed, while lawyers and architects were, as a group, "the least right-handed or the most left-handed". Other studies have shown that more left-handed people work as artists and musicians, and in university settings. Interestingly, more than 20% of the Apollo astronauts were left-handed, according to NASA.

  • Here is a collage of photos, created in canva, we see the organization of my sister-in-law Angelica's desk, where her pencil and her writing tablet are on the left side, and the best for her is a wireless mouse to pass it to her dominant hand.
  • Could it be that it is genetic? because they are both left-handed.

By the 1990s, The Left Handers Club took up Capbell's idea and turned it into a global trend, uniting those who, in order to "adapt to the majority", had to change the control of their dominant hand.

With the development of tools and other products for left-handed use, the Club has worked with all kinds of companies to advise them on their relationship with left-handed people and their integration with the world.
