I loved the tongue in cheek write up. Now I want to try it.
How did I ever lose sight of you?
Covid. I blame it for everything.

I didn't make any posts for about a year and only a handful of comments. I disappaeared amd feel better than ever.
I blame covid for convincing several friends and I to buy a VR headset.
For people like me who live abroad, it actually brought me closer to my family and friends who live far away (minus the 12~18 month visit back home). More people are calling or doing videochats than before.
I guess they are more comfortable with it. So in a way, win for me.
Needless to say VR is nothing like a console game. The multiplayer is actually a blast, too.
Even without face-to-face HD video, but a cartoonish 3d avatar, there is a sense of presence when chating while playing the same VR game or whatever which is very different than staring at a screen. You feel like you are in the same space and not in separate screens.
