The Rio conference in Rio de Janeiro in 1992, marked the evolution of sustainable development, and that we should use our resources properly with environmental protection. And the prime minister in Norway at that time, Gro Harlem Brundtland, devoted enough time to dwell and think about this issue.

Today, many professors around the planet say that globalization means that every place, every city, every town and every district is going to be together. What humans are doing around the globe, regardless of where they are doing what and how and why, have dramatic consequences for the environment and the people living and working in different places. And we should always be motivated to find properly step of doing things better, and training and coaching are good things to have focus on in our busy lives. We should not destroy the rain forest and the valuable resources of every kind of humans and capital and of landscapes, but we should build the different societies, and not destroy things that are really constructive. And Norways earlier famous prime minister Gro Harlem Brundtland, has the same opinions. Gro could started her amazing academic career at doctor studies at Harvard in medicine, but she did not want to focus on these things, and instead she wanted to devote her life with politics and being engaged with doing much important for many people around the earth!

The Rio-conferanse was a reminder of protecting each individual with its identity and ways of being, and it was called for United Nations Conference on Environment and Development, the UNCED-conference, and it was a conference about environment and development, and it was organized in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil in June 1992.

And according to the human rights in the UN, every human is born free, and is having the same human rights, and the same freedom to choose everywhere. Nobody should interrupt your life and your choices, and the life you are determining yourself. As humans, we are endowed with reason and conscience. And thinking rationally and feeling as you are, are the human rights we have as individuals. We cannot do things that are unwanted for instance going around persons with police, fire department and ambulance but instead one should use encouragement and giving meaning advice in a busy daily life for many. And all humans are equal when coming to these needs.

UNCED was initiated after the report from the world commission for environments and development, and it was presented in 1987. 30 000 people and 120 state leaders participated on the conference, and this conference is the largest and most important that has been organized on the environmental area. UNCED decided a convention on protection of biological diversity, and this was the first climate convention that was adopted.

The most important task for UNCED was to make an action plan for the earth’s environment and development in the 21st century. The plan which is called for Agenda 21, is consisted of 40 chapters which are about different areas as soil erosion, deforestation, desertification, climate problems, environmental toxins, marine resources, poverty, consumption patterns, housing policy and health. Hence, we should take care of the resources at earth, and not doing stupid actions and choices.

We can hold speeches and interpellations in the UN, and in many other places. And we have a message, for instance restrictions on acid rain, and many other things that are not wanted at the earth. Many things in the world today, are about communication and communication strategies, and the person having the best message will win the competition of reaching the target groups!
