We are red, we are white, we are the Danish Dynamite! We should enjoy the moments in Denmark, especially when eating red sausages! This is special for the world and for Denmark, and there are plenty people that have ever eaten it, and still more will come! And the tourists, the people taken a tour, are also appreciating this product!

A red hotdog is goodies for foreigners who are on holiday in Denmark! But why are the sausages in Denmark actually red? Do the Danish people know it, and what about what other countries know about these special types of sausages? Many people have a passionate relationship with sausages. We are eating sausages both to everyday and to parties. And we are often eating these red Danish sausages on holiday in Denmark. But in Denmark, the sausages are not completely such as we are used to see them in our national shops, since the Danish people often prefer their red sausages. This sausages have been in Denmark for approximately 100 years. Hence, there is history and traditions and habits about what to eat, and why it is as it is.

The red color on the Danish Wiener sausages is world famous. But why are these sausages really so red? In Copenhagen, many Danish people do not know this. It is neither the cooking process nor the peppers that implies that the color on these sausages is red. The history of the Danish sausages is not too long and not too complicated. The red sausage is a type of boiled pork sausage with strong red color, and these sausages are pretty common in Denmark! Since sausage stalls are ubiquitous in Denmark, many people consider that red sausages are one of the country’s national dishes. These sausages are of the type of Wiener sausages, and the skin is dyed with a traditional red dye, and this dye is called for carmine. So that is the scientific meaning and perception about why the Danish sausages really are red!

As the little ugly Duckling written by H.C. Andersen, you and I turn red and white on the count! And this is true when we aret hinking about Denmark, and actually being in Denmark. This was the adventure written by the famous Danish author as mentioned.

The special red color on the Danish sausages is special for Denmark, and many of us like them, and it can be enjoyed together with the Danish beer Tuborg coming from Copenhagen. And the Danish people have made Tuborg famous in the world, and we are therefore also drinking it in many other countries in addition! And the efforts with marketing, strategy and giving and receiving information in the markets are also funny, interesting and serious. And you will admire and love and appreciate the Danish cultures, since not everything is about the Danes and the farms. But many people love the amusement parks and the facilities in Denmark, and the people are open and hospitable.

Red sausages should, according to tradition, be drawn in hot water and they should typically be served with remulade, mustard or ketchup, strong onion and pickle.

The red sausages are usually made of 60-80 % finely ground pork seasoned with pepper, nutmeg, allspice or similar sweet spices (crushed mustard seeds, onions and sugar can also be added). Water, lard, pork belly, potato flour and soybeans protein or milk protein are often added as a filler. Almost all commercially available sausages have been industrially pre-cooked considering that they will later be fried or soaked in hot water.

So, when you are in Denmark, try the red sausages! Maybe you ever have tasted such good products as food! And the food should be eaten and being appreciated! Good luck, also if you should do something in your kitchen!
