The oil platforms are really important in getting oil from under the water level up to the surface. And they are called for oil platforms, because we are pumping oil and there is a platform with equipment, also much technology, for just doing that. And we have several oil platforms at the seas, and we find them on areas where they have searched for oil, and where they have found oil in the ground under the water level.

An oil platform, offshore platform, or offshore drilling rig is a large structure with facilities for well drilling to explore, extract, store, and process petroleum and natural gas that lies in rock formations beneath the seabed. Many oil platforms will also contain facilities to accommodate their workforce.

The first “offshore” well, defined as, “out of sight of land,” was started on 9 September, 1947 by a tender assist drilling (TAD) unit owned by Kerr-McGee in 15 ft of water in the Gulf of Mexico (GOM).

Which types of equipment is on an oil platform? Drilling for oil involves the use of bulky and specialized equipment. The equipment needs an enormous and continuous power supply. And today, we should think even longer than before, and try to find new products where the origin-of-coming is oil and gas that we find at seas.

How does really an oil platform work? The bottom plug sits near the oil deposit. Drilling mud or seawater provides the pressure to hold the plug in place while the engineers place a top plug to cap the oil well. Then the well is ready for a production rig to take over. Offshore production rigs work in a similar way to land-based oil rigs.

We must live the life as we ​​want, and we must take away all the unwanted shit. And there is many positive and clever people working in the oil industry, and they give us a smile and positive gestures, and we can be rich and earn a lot of money being on an oil platform, but there is also risk for the life. So, we should earn money due to the risk management that we are exposed to. Risk management is mainly about earning money when we have variance on how much we are earning from time to time, and from place to place. And we are often making models on this, and any model is a representation of the reality, but it is not just the reality, since many factors and variables often influence the situations we are facing.
