The Silk Road was an ancient network of trade routes, formally established during the Han Dynasty of China, which linked the regions of the ancient world in commerce between 130 BCE-1453 CE. Hence, many countries were link through the Silk Road, and the function was to hold the trade on the sea and on the land in Asia, in North Africa and in Europe of being together.

Why did people use the name called for the Silk Road? The Silk Road was a vast trade network connecting Eurasia and North Africa via land and sea routes. The Silk Road earned its name from Chinese silk, a highly valued commodity that merchants transported along these trade networks. Advances in technology and increased political stability caused an increase in trade. So, making and taking political risks and uncertainty when getting the silk in China, and also other products from the trade, made this Silk Road.

What was the main point of making the Silk Road, the road to get the silk and the other products? The Silk Road was important because it helped to generate trade and commerce between a number of different kingdoms and empires. This helped for ideas, culture, inventions, and unique products to spread across much of the settled world. Which known people did really used this road at sea and on the landscapes? In the history of the Silk Road, many renowned people left their footprints on this most historically important trade route, including eminent diplomats, generals and great monks, such as Zhang Qian, Ban Chao, Ban Yong and Fu Jiezi, Gan Ying, Xuanzang and Marco Polo. We therefore find many people using the Silk Road, and the countries were closed to each other and linked to each other by using this path in the path analysis that we just can imagine through all times while humans have been here, and being engaged with trade. The products are also the most important things in the marketing, and marketing comes from taking a product into a market!

The accident that we have been shown recently with the Suez Canal shows the importance of the Silk Road in international trade. But the Suez Canal was opened in 1869, and 12 % of the world’s trade is passing this area during a year. Transit goes through the Suez Canal linking the Mediterranean and Red Seas, and consequently facilitating European-Asian maritime trade, has been temporarily suspended following an accident just earlier in March 2021, and a whole cargo ship has just recently closed the Suez Canal, and this has implied that other ships have been shut out, and hence the prices on the products going through this area has increased due to increased scarcity.

How did really the Silk Road affect Europe, North Africa and Asia? The Silk Road affected Europe and North Africa and Asia by being an important source of cultural diffusion between these continents. In addition to an infinity of commercial items that circulated along the Silk Road, these roads served as a step to the exchange of knowledge between East and West. Hence, there were more open roads in trade in the Silk Road, and products went from East to West, and from West to East, and therefore both directions were opened for international trade. And international trade and impacts are something we are having when opening our brains and our minds to find good and better solutions than ever on the trade we are forced to have between some countries. Silk went westward, and wools, gold, and silver went east. And in addition to the products, there was a diffusion of ideas and knowledges between the countries. We can not always know all the variables and the factors that are operating, but after experiences and attempts we can know better and know things for sure. And there are many routines, facts, fictions, and traditions linked to trade at home and abroad!

Its good to know about that story. Now a days we just know the silk road organized by Ross Ulbricht. This is a really great commentary about the Chinese monks and Marko Polo.
