Well, today I woke up with several missed calls from my friend @ josesalazar200, which seemed strange to me since he normally doesn't call me that much, so I proceeded to call him back.

José, a little alarmed, he explains to me that he had gone out to the city center to do some shopping, such as food and household items, and that when he returned home, he was met with a horrible surprise: His pet (Dog) had broken him his headphones to record, the only thing he had to record his songs, which is his favorite hobby, and of course upload it to you, to #hive. Therefore I explained to him that it was not a problem and that we could see how to solve the situation there, so I prepared my compact bag and put away my work tools, at least those necessary to solve this problem: Multimeter MT108 MUSTOOL, Cautin Tuper de 30W, 0.4mm Non-clean tin and 0.8mm normal tin, scissors and knives to chop if necessary, and I proceed to go to your home.

When I get home, I get the following: The dog had bitten part of the cable of the headphone connector, to the point of bursting it, making it impossible to repair it, at least not with that connector, it could not be recycled anymore. I asked José if he had another connector, a damaged cheap headphone, etc, and he told me that he had some Speakers that came with the computer and which had a functional 3.5mm Jack connector.

There was another problem, the dog not only damaged the end of the cable but also ripped and dismembered pieces of the wiring, so by chopping the damaged parts, the cable was even shorter and it was very difficult to use it now that way, so I proceeded to verify the status of that cable to verify that it can be reused. I did not take a photo of that process because it was an emergency repair and I omitted several things, in addition there was a light deficiency.

I proceeded to chop the damaged cable and thus remove the cables. I remind you that "peeling" them is not enough, the color that you see in the cables is an insulating enamel to avoid shorting inside the cable jacket, and this must be removed from the copper before doing any soldering, therefore I used a lighter to it. It is worth mentioning that so that the enamel residues do not hinder your work, it is recommended to use Flux to solder, I do not have so I used the 0.4mm Non-clean tin, it is recommended for this type of cables, so that the solder is acquired almost immediately.

The camera could not focus well and perhaps what I am trying to show you cannot be seen either, but I managed to tin the ends of the cables without problems, although the soldering iron does not help me as much, since I remember it is in bad condition.

And I also took advantage of tinning the tips of the other cable, which I will use to make the extension of the headphone cable, which as you know and I mentioned above, was also damaged by the dog and was very short.

As you can see, I did the solder and apparently it was good, so I did the first test using my mobile phone and they rang without any problem, so it was time to fix the solder a little more, and as always, I used a little bit of hot silicone for it.

The idea of the hot silicone is to create a base resistant to vibrations and shocks, which prevent the work done today from falling off so quickly and can resolve the situation until buying new hearing aids, or keeping them taking care of them even more to continue using them, why not?. Well, there is only the last step left, let the owner try them.

Just looking at her happy face gives you the answer to your question: Did they work? Well, clearly yes, they are ready to work again and continue serving their useful life, until he decides to buy new and better ones.

Nuevamente con ustedes trayéndoles algo diferente a las reparaciones que he enseñado aquí para ustedes, y cuando digo diferente, es porque no estaba en mi lista de quehaceres. Pues hoy me levanté con varias llamadas perdidas de mi amigo @josesalazar200, lo que me parecía extraño ya que normalmente no me llama tanto, así que procedí a devolverle la llamada.

José, un poco alarmado, me explica que había salido al centro de la ciudad a realizar algunas compras, como comida y artículos para el hogar, y que cuando regresó a su casa, se consigue con una horrible sorpresa: Su mascota (Perro) le había roto sus audífonos para grabar, lo único con que disponía para poder grabar sus canciones, que es su pasatiempo favorito, y por supuesto subirlo a ustedes, a #hive. Por lo tanto le expliqué que no era ningún problema y que ahí podíamos ver cómo resolver la situación, así que preparé mi bolso compacto y guardé mis herramientas de trabajo, al menos, las necesarias para solucionar este problema: Multímetro MT108 MUSTOOL, Cautin Tuper de 30W, estaño Non-clean de 0.4mm y estaño normal de 0.8mm, tijeras y navajas para poder picar en caso de ser necesario, y procedo a dirigirme a su hogar.

Cuando llego a su casa, me consigo con lo siguiente: El perro había mordido parte del cable del conector de los audífonos, a tal punto de reventarlo, haciendo imposible su reparación, al menos, no con ese conector, no se podía reciclar ya. Pregunté a José, si disponía de otro conector, de algún audífono barato dañado, etc, y me dijo que tenía unos Speakers que vinieron con la computadora y los cuales tenían un conector Jack 3.5mm funcional.

Había otro problema, el perro no solo dañó la punta del cable sino que también arrancó y desmembró pedazos del cableado, por lo que al picar las partes dañadas, el cable quedó aún más corto y era muy difícil usarlo ahora de esa manera, así que procedí a verificar el estado de aquel cable para corroborar que lo pueda reutilizar. No tomé foto de ese proceso porque era una reparación de emergencia y omití varias cosas, además había deficiencia de luz.

Procedí a picar el cable dañado y retirar de esta manera los cables. Les recuerdo que "pelarlos" no es suficiente, el color que ven en los cables son un esmalte aislante para evitar corto dentro del forro del cable, y éste debe ser removido del cobre antes de realizar alguna soldadura, por lo tanto utilicé un encendedor para ello. Cabe mencionar que para que los residuos de esmalte no te entorpezcan el trabajo, es recomendado usar Flux para soldar, yo no tengo así que utilicé el estaño Non-clean de 0.4mm, es el recomendado para este tipo de cables, para que la soldadura se adquiera casi inmediatamente.

La cámara no pudo enfocar bien y quizás tampoco se vea bien lo que les intento enseñar, pero logré estañar sin problemas las puntas de los cables, aunque el cautín no me ayuda tanto, ya que les recuerdo está en mal estado.

Y también aproveché de estañar las puntas del otro cable, el cual utilizaré para realizar la extensión del cable de los audífonos, que como sabrán y les mencioné arriba, fue dañado también por el perro y quedó muy corto.

Como pueden observar , realicé la soldadura y al parecer quedó bien, así que realicé la primera prueba utilizando mi teléfono móvil y sonaban sin ningún problema, así que llegó la hora de fijar un poco más la soldadura, y como siempre, utilicé un poco de silicona caliente para ello.

La idea de la silicona caliente es crear una base resistente a vibraciones y golpes, que impidan que el trabajo realizado hoy día no se caiga tan rápidamente y puedan resolver la situación hasta comprar audífonos nuevos, o conservarlos cuidándolos aún más para seguir utilizándolos, ¿Por qué no?. Pues ya solo queda el último paso, que los pruebe el dueño.

Solo con mirar su cara de felicidad les da la respuesta a su duda: ¿Funcionaron? Pues claramente sí, ya están listos para funcionar nuevamente y seguir cumpliendo su vida útil, hasta que él decida comprar unos nuevos y mejores.
