A few hours ago Apple had their Worldwide Developer Conference, where they unveiled the new software innovations they have been working on from the past few months.

They informed about a bunch of changes that will bring improvements to all of their different systems, but what I believe to be the most important change is that they will finally begin to use their own processors in their Macs, meaning that Intel just lost one of its main clients.

The transition will take around 2 years according to Tim Cook and the first Mac with Apple's own silicon will release later this year, they apparently also have some new Macs with Intel processors that will be released this year but I think people will now think twice before buying an Intel one after knowing Apple will switch to their own processors. This transition will include all sorts of tools to make it easier for everyone.

The Mac was the only Apple product that didn't use in-house processors and that will no longer be the case. Daniel Eran Dilger, a well informed Apple blogger, wrote an article a week ago about this big shift in Apple's Mac strategy.

As a fun fact not entirely related to technology, Apple also released the first trailer of a major sci-fi series they have in the works called Foundation, based on the novels from the legendary writer Isaac Asimov. Here is the trailer, the only bad thing is that it will be released in 2021 but it sure looks promising!
