✅ Trying To Learn Everything At Once

One of the biggest mistakes that people make when trying to learn something new is trying to learn everything at once. When you try to take in too much information at once, you end up overwhelming your brain and forgetting most of what you’ve learned.

A better approach is to break down the task into smaller pieces and focus on one piece at a time. For example, if you want to learn a new programming language, start by learning the basic syntax. Once you’ve mastered the basics, you can move on to more complex topics.

Trying to learn everything at once is a surefire way to fail. So next time you’re starting a new project, remember to take it one step at a time.

✅ Not Having A Plan Or Goal

One of the biggest mistakes that beginner programmers make is not having a plan or goal. When starting out, it's easy to get caught up in the excited flurry of coding and forget to set a clear goal for what you want to achieve. Without a plan or goal, it's easy to get sidetracked and end up with a mess of code that doesn't really do anything. So before you start coding, take a step back and ask yourself what you want to achieve. What is your goal? Once you have a clear goal in mind, you can start coding with a purpose and create something really great.

✅ Not Staying Up-to-date

As a beginner programmer, it's easy to get caught up in the minutiae of coding and forget to stay up-to-date on the latest trends. However, failing to stay informed can put you at a disadvantage and make it harder to find a job or advance in your career. To avoid this, make sure to set aside some time each week to read blogs, listen to podcasts, and watch webinars on the latest programming trends. This will help you stay ahead of the curve and make better decisions about your career.

No programmer is perfect, and everyone makes mistakes from time to time. However, some mistakes are more common among beginner programmers than others. One of the most common mistakes is failing to seek help when needed.

Many beginner programmers try to figure everything out on their own, but this can often lead to frustration and wasted time. If you're stuck on a problem, don't be afraid to ask for help from more experienced programmers. There are many resources available, such as online forums, chat rooms, and mailing lists.

✅ Procrastinating

One of the biggest mistakes that beginner programmers make is procrastinating. When you're first starting out, it's easy to get overwhelmed by all the new concepts you're learning. You may not know where to start or how to apply what you're learning. This can lead to procrastination, which will only make it harder to learn how to program.

If you find yourself procrastinating, it's important to take a step back and figure out what's causing you to feel overwhelmed. Once you identify the source of your stress, you can develop a plan to overcome it. This may involve breaking down large tasks into smaller ones, setting deadlines, or seeking out help from more experienced programmers.

Don't let procrastination get in the way of your programming journey. By taking small steps and staying motivated, you'll be well on your

My no.1 piece of advice for a new programmers would be to "read the docs/README". And if you are writing code leave a README/docs.

That's correct 💯

I had the experience of needing to learn something totally new, I was used to do only backend programing with python, so I got a job with a need to learn multiple new stuff, including in the backend area ( use of graphQL databases for example) and front-end programing with react-app. The problem is that we are used to go fast with our experience, and when we need to stop again and learn creates anxiety I guess, we think that we are slow!

They are excellent advice. It is true, at the beginning we want to learn everything at once and that only overwhelms us, in some cases it makes us lose motivation.
