The Mercedes S-Class is a luxury sedan, F-segment, manufactured by Mercedes-Benz since 1972. Currently the seventh generation is marketed under the code W223, presented in 2020. The S-Class is characterized, an exhibitor with the best that the brand offers in terms of technology, comfort and luxury. The S-Class is manufactured at the Mercedes plant in Sindelfingen, Germany, under the name Factory 56.
S-Class engines
Mercedes S-Class is marketed with a total of 5 powertrain variants, but all of them in in-line 6-cylinder configuration, with 3 liters and turbocharged: 2 gasoline, 2 diesel and 1 gasoline plug-in hybrid versions.
The interior design of the Mercedes S-Class is elegant, highly luxurious, but at the same time very technological. Going a step further than seen in other models of the brand, the S-Class reduces to a minimum the physical buttons and knobs, integrating all controls and functions in different screens present throughout the cabin. Thus, the S-Class will have up to 5 different screens to give life to its MBUX ecosystem: 12.3" digital instrument panel, 12.8" central multimedia system, individual screens for rear passengers of 11.6" each and a 7" rear center console. These screens are highlighted by the use of OLED technology in the case of the front central system, as well as 3D technology for better visualization in the instrument panel. All this is complemented by a HUD projection system equipped with augmented reality capable of covering a surface of 77" just in front of the driver.
Other interior innovations include a voice recognition system with assistant capable of interacting in 27 different languages, 4D sound system signed by the specialist Burmester with 30 speakers, seats with ventilation, heating and massage functions with up to 10 different programs, customizable LED lighting or access and start by biometric or facial recognition. In terms of safety and driving assistance the S-Class offers pre-collision warning front, rear and side, level 2 autonomous driving with assistance on steering and lane change, LED lighting with laser technology for headlights and a deployment of airbags where we find as a great premiere a front airbag for rear passengers.
The ultimate expression of luxury according to Mercedes will have the Maybach stamp.

El Clase S se caracteriza, un expositor con lo mejor que ofrece la marca en cuestión de tecnología, confot y lujo. El Clase S se fabrica en la planta que posee Mercedes en Sindelfingen, Alemania, bajo el nombre de Factory 56.
Motores de la Clase S
Mercedes Clase S se comercializa con un total de 5 variantes de propulsor, pero todas ellas en configuración de 6 cilindros en línea, con 3 litros y turboalimentadas: 2 versiones gasolina, 2 diésel y 1 híbrida enchufable gasolina.
El diseño interior del Mercedes Clase S es elegante, de gran lujo, pero al mismo tiempo muy tecnológico. Yendo un paso más allá que lo visto en otros modelos de la marca, el Clase S reduce a la mínima expresión los botones y mandos físicos, integrando todos los controles y funciones en diferentes pantallas presentes por todo el habitáculo. De este modo el Clase S podrá contar con hasta 5 pantallas diferentes para dar vida a su ecosistema MBUX: cuadro de instrumentos digital de 12,3", sistema multimedia central de 12,8", pantallas individuales para los pasajeros traseros de 11,6" cada una y una consola central trasera de 7". A destacar de estas pantallas el uso de tecnología OLED en el caso del sistema central delantero, además de tecnología 3D para su mejor visualización en el cuadro de instrumentos. Todo ello se complementa con un sistema de proyección HUD dotado de realidad aumentada capaz de cubrir una superficie de 77" justo por delante del conductor
Otras innovaciones del interior son un sistema de reconocimiento por voz con asistente capaz de interactuar en 27 lenguas diferentes, sistema de sonido 4D firmado por el especialista Burmester con 30 altavoces, asientos con funciones de ventilación, calefacción y masaje con hasta 10 programas diferentes, iluminación LED personalizable o acceso y arranque mediante reconocimiento biométrico o facial. En materia de seguridad y asistencias a la conducción el Clase S ofrece alerta precolisión frontal, trasera y lateral, conducción autónoma de nivel 2 con asistencia sobre la dirección y cambio de carril, iluminación LED con tecnología láser para los faros delanteros y un despliegue de airbags donde encontramos como gran primicia un airbag frontal para los pasajeros traseros.

What a great review :) I really love Mercedes S class (even thou am more of a 7-series man). Where I live in Moscow are lots of S classes. You manly see the W221 and W222 over here along with the coupe versions. The older ones I see are usually in great shape, because they are going up in value, but the one I usually see dead on many corners is the W220. They are usually laying on their bellys which is a shame, but the W221 is heading that way too.
I love the tech of the W223 but the look of the W222, as the grill looks a bit less intimidating.

I went to look for that dead S class near my home. Lorries keep shifting it about, due to construction works. I think they must of put air in the tyres today.

Thank you @gustavovillalta - as @mattsbeamer says we are massive MB fans, currently our C124 230CE 1991 is in for refurbished AMG wheels, can't wait. The W140 is one of our favourites, such a beast. This latest one really enhances refinement, that quilted premium finish.
