I'm going to have to start seeing action now. I'm planning on retirement in 15 years. If they add on another 50 years, my planning is in trouble.

That is one major issue that is already being seen. Funding of retirement if woefully inadequate, for many reasons.
But one of the issues is people are living longer which means they outlive their money.
It is something to consider when retirement planning.
