Thanks for the overview. I would be interested in seeing more details about this process including what the potential pitfalls are. You mentioned them briefly.
I think many are taking it for granted that scaling might happen and everything will be fine. I would be interested in an analysis of how this could get sidetracked and not work out as planned.
People need to be aware of how things can fail too when making investment decisions.

Definitely, I have a more detailed post in the pipeline. Prior to posting this, I had worked on an even more detailed post only to realize in the end that it got too much technical and difficult to understand.
Also as you have mentioned I agree how things could go wrong. Vitalik himself admits how bad it could end up for the entire crypto space. With the merge right around the corner the best we can do is keep our fingers crossed and hope transition to eth 2 is smooth.
