Discover the Shocking Truth Behind ChatGPT's New Upgrade Plan: Is $20 the Deal of a Lifetime or a Risky Investment?

I woke up this morning to check out some things on ChatGPT, and I noticed something different in the UI; I discovered a yellow button by the side that I was certain wasn't there the last time I used ChatGPT, and when I looked closely at it, it had the description Upgrade Plan...

When I clicked on it, I expected the $43 price that was announced previously, but it was only $20 for the upgrade to the Pro version. I was surprised and immediately went to Bing to search for ChatGPT's pricing to confirm what I saw.

So, after going through the search results, I noticed some news searches from three days ago saying it costs $20; now, I'm wondering why I'm only noticing the upgrade plan icon there. Or has it been there all along without your knowledge?

The question now is, why was the price reduced to $20?

However, I am relieved to see that the price for ChatGPT Pro is $20 because that is what I expected before they announced that the Pro version of ChatGPT would cost $43. I even mentioned in a reply to one of my AI posts that $20 would be a good price for a premium ChatGPT... The following is a screenshot of the statement below:

Given that it costs $20, I guess I could try ChatGPT Plus, but I'm not sure just yet because I don't use it for anything critical enough to require that it be available at all times. In addition, Google will soon release BARD AI, which is expected to be completely free.

So, why would I pay for something when another company is planning to offer it for free?

Would the release of BARD AI result in fewer premium subscribers for OpenAI? I don't know the answer yet, as we have yet to see how well BARD AI will perform and if it will be as good as ChatGPT. For now, with this price, I'm sure some rich tech individuals might be willing to pay $20 for the Plus, but for someone like me, who could use $20 to feed themselves for a week, I wouldn't want to spend the money.

If I do end up subscribing to the Pro plan of ChatGPT, it might be to find a way to rent out my login to others for a more affordable price. Renting it out to 5-10 people for $10 each could potentially yield a good return on investment.

So, what do you think? Is $20 a good price for the pro features of ChatGPT? Would you subscribe right away or wait for BARD AI to be launched, like I am?

Lol. First of all, I am surprise you do web search with Bing. Did you just recently transition to Bing as result of the OpenAI integration promised? Or you do use Bing naturally? Few times I've used Bing, I have found that it is surprisingly good though!

For the question, I think 20USD is a good deal, but I wonder if it is a good deal for the company itself. With a running cost of over 100,000USD daily, it would take a lot to be in profit (though, institutional investors are covering most operational cost).

As with regards renting it for 10USD, ahhh! Bro! You're even making more money that OpenAI!

It wasn't because of the OpenAI I started searching with Bing... I have been using Microsoft Edge as my default browser for some time, so Bing is the default search engine. Sometimes, If I am not satisfied with the result I get from Bing, I open my Google Chrome, and Search from Google straight up. Although, I get better search results when I use Google compared to Using Bing.

Smiles... I haven't subscribed on it yet, but when I do I would try to find guys who make want it and see if I could rent it out for them at that cost. Lol... Making money more than OpenAI.... After you have finished whining me, tell me..

hehehe they are probably reducing the price now because they know the competition is coming very soon, and if they don't get people.fast....they will simply lose them because BAIRD will be free.

business will be business hehehe

when you're the monopoly, you control the prices

but when competition comes knocking, suddenly you want to start making deals hehehe

consumer wins! lol

hi starstrings 🤗🤗🤗

Hola dreamy!!! It's been a while....missed you so much 🤗

Yeah that's what I thought too. Google's launch of BARD may have contributed to the reason why the price of ChatGPT plus came down to $20 monthly...

With BARD being completely free, I am keeping my $20 in my pockets...

hahahaha exactly....we will wait to see.what they offer right?? lol

maybe it's not so great and then ChatGPT puts the price back up when they see the competition is weaker than expected???
