I cannot be the same person again. NO

It's not easy to stay calm and remain comfortable once you are into something you like a lot. Look at me, I was generally positive about crypto and tokens but never got into the game. It's been a year and half and I can definitely say that people in my inner circle already introduce me as a coin guy. I am that family member who is now officially recognized as a person to ask questions whenever there is anything about crypto in general. Yes, that's me now in my family. It does not have to be an advice on crypto investment or a serious conversation about what is happening in the space. If BTC is dropping, I am asked why this is happening. I don't know all the answers as a I am myself a beginner.

It is amazing how much time we invest in understanding crypto projects and new technology/terminology. On one hand, I always say that crypto is not a significant part of my life but spend most of my spare time reading about a new crypto project in town. If not, I will be clicking on links that share information on how the space is moving forward. 99% of my podcast/audio consumption is crypto. I rarely listen to any news other than crypto.

All is good under the hood as I am deeply investing myself into the space. But, is this healthy?

Should I go back to be that regular guy who worries about Grammy nominations and movie release dates? Balancing is the name of the game. I don't think I can go back to being the same guy I was a couple of years ago. I cannot unlearn and I cannot be awoke. I don't know if crypto is the solution but I am quite certain that decentralization is one way of responding to global issues that is happening out there in the real world. It sounds easy to me but not for others.

I returned to the office after almost a year and half.

The seats were empty and there were very few people at their desk. I met a good work friend of mine with who I share similar thought wavelength. While chatting, I told him about Hive and crypto in general. I told him how invested I am into these concepts and why I think it is beneficial for him to learn about it. To my surprise, his reaction was the exact opposite of what I expected. Although a technical guy, he was not keen in learning about decentralization or even accepting the role.

That interaction reminded me how comfortable I was in my space while being at home. Work from home allowed me to spend time in my way and in forums like. It means the spaces like Hive where I spend my time is not normal for others. It takes time for onboarding and I can definitely say that it will take a while before the mass is convinced to join.

My friend thinks the crypto space has its benefits but he does not have any background on how the blockchain tech could disrupt internet as we know. I think I will have many more of these onboarding conversations with more people. I know it will take time until all of us realized the value of the tech we are in. People do not tend to go against the establishment and they always think BTC or any other coin as a bubble where people will lose their money. It is tough for others to see the fundamental behind the monetary policy and disruptive tech that is being developed.

Buying tokens and looking for profit is speculative in nature as the price can go up or down. There will be bulls and bears and the market is their push and pull games. It is obviously important to make profits.

The way forward is to reinvest the profit into other projects.

In the long run, we are buying tokens but we are investing into project ideas that can last much longer than the profit we are chasing in the short term. I need to figure what are those long term projects that I want to be part of and spend my time on. Every other individual should treat this crypto economy as an opportunity to experiment their business ideas. The experiment is happening right now and we are running the biggest economic experiment of all times that may reset and reshape the internal economic order as we know.

Sucks that your work colleague, the potential user to onboard, was totally against this. I had a similar experience! One of my former colleagues reached out after not talking with me for a while and we were chatting back and forth and I figured screw it let's see if I can get anyone on here with me. We talked a bit about it, found out he was minimally invested in Doge but still more than nothing which was good.

I was telling him about this place, the stuff going on and all the great things that I've learned and how it's the future. He seemed interested at first but when the rubber met the road, he stopped responding. I told him it was no risk for him at all, it's totally free all you have to do is spend time on here to interact but nothing. Tried again with offering to call him and walk him through it but still nothing. Very sad, unfortunately that folks are so hesitant!

Could I go back to watching the mindless TV? Nope! Not at all. We've started branching out into more content creating modes, started up a YT channel and all that. Trying to dedicate as much time to producing content as we can to just prepare ourselves for the different future of earning and be ahead of the curve as much as we can!

Yeah it's unfortunate. I guess there's a lot of scams out there but I reiterated to him a bunch of times there's zero risk. Sadly that wasn't enough. Can't help some people though!

Let it be. We should enjoy that there is less competition in accumulating, I guess :D

Yeah I know, I wanted to help my friend out though! I think one of the important things about this time is that we need to spread our influence out as much as we can so that we can attract people to get in on it. I don't have a whole lot of "friends" though, especially as I've gotten older so I don't know a whole lot of people to try and get on here hahaha. Maybe I'll go for neighbors instead!

ha ha. that's funny but I can relate. Having friends is luxury these day for me while taking care of my kid and doing all these household chores. I have work connections.

I am scared when I start talking about blockchain and tech. I don't know how they would respond. I need to be more careful how I frame these convos going forward.

Loool same here. Especially when the crypto I’m talking about is for long term and not a 100x in 3 days type of crypto.

I think the early adopters like us are in this weird place where we cannot stop talking about what we are engaged with but others won't still understand the potential. So, what do we do? We keep doing what we are doing. May be, try to invest regularly. I know that you are doing great with your content creation. I will do the same.

Yeah I know, it's definitely a weird spot. I've told my dad about it and he's like ..?? internet money?? how does that work? Lol. He's more interested in his stocks but that's okay, hopefully this is our opportunity to make good money at a prime time like others did in the booming of the internet days.

The content is good, takes work but in the end it's a lot of fun! I try to turn anything we are doing into some type of content. Might be a bit more than others are interested in but that's okay. Gotta throw a bunch of stuff at the wall to see what sticks!

Crypto is hard to get rid of and not talk about in almost every environment. I bring the topic as often as I can and regarding how crypto will reshape the internet, I'd say we will have a better understanding of that when we will emerge into metaverses.

Agree. But, it is not easy for others to grasp what is coming. We ourselves don't know how early we are in terms of how we operate. I wish I was 10-20 yrs younger so that I can restart my career in coding and build amazing projects :P

I can relate to this post a lot. I have similar experiences with my friends too, these days I don’t even bother anymore. I just let people be, if they are interested, I share my bits and it ends there otherwise I keep my cool. The funny part is when they see me playing game they think it’s for fun, not knowing I earn from it.

We think that these ideas are pretty common but they are not. Others don't seem to have any idea on what we are doing. It all seems flimsy and child like. But, they don't know that these projects are creating foundations for the next tech that will be prevalent in the next two decades.

I find that a lot of people I talk to about it are intrigued, but hesitant when it comes to actually installing a wallet, making that purchase, or getting involved in a community. I've never been a high pressure salesman, so I just tell them to ask me any questions about something that confuses them - few do, most don't.

When it comes to real dollars, people are hesitant to get into the project. These people will get into crypto once the projects are included in mutual fund portfolios.
