When Will a Digital Payment Implant Stop Sounding Like A Crazy Idea?

We pretty much all have one on us, carry it with us wherever we go. It tracks our movements in various ways and handles our data, sells it even if possible. Of course, I'm talking about a mobile phone. More recently it's also becoming a medium for payments more and more each day. Alternative digital methods of payment are taking over and becoming more popular. From the phone to the smart watch, and everything in between.

Even people like me who haven't switched on the options on their phones or watches (yet), still probably have a debit or credit card to do digital payments with. Knowing all of this, it's only a matter of time before just having an actual chip in your body for digital payments doesn't seem like a huge invasion of privacy anymore.

It may seem like an absurd thought. But so did the cellphone or the internet at one point. The only difference between a chip and the other devices we have on us is that you can still actively walk away from the devices whenever you want. But how many people actually do that? How many of us actively go offline? Definitely not the majority.

Whether it's with crypto or fiat, or some other form of currency, digital payment methods are going to keep advancing. Something to look out for. For whatever reason, your privacy, your safety, or maybe just your options for future investments.
