The Future Is Bright And Decentralized || No Time For Limitations

Decentralization is the future. That much is clear to me. Every so often I'm on some kind of centralized platform and notice that something is not available for my country. This especially happens because I live in a developing country a little more than 600K people in it. Not that much. These platforms or websites that limit features or options based on geographical location are usually of the centralized regulated kind.

For some countries there may be valid reasons to limit certain content based on the law of that country. I get that from a business point of view. But in the case of Suriname, where I live, it's often not because of any law, but more because of the lack of knowledge the platform has of the country, so by default they just block the content. Youtube has a lot of videos not available in my country for example, of which with some it's very questionable why that even is.

I'm even deadlocked in some situations when you have to select a country of residence from a list of countries and my own country doesn't appear. Even more so if there is a validation based on that country through a local phone number of selected country. These problems all become a thing of the past when the blockchain comes into play. Here on Hive, I am a resident of Hive first, and physical location comes second. I can see all content, view every 3speak video, not to mention receive and send digital tokens of value to people all over the world.

All that's really needed is an internet connection and a decent computer. The possibilities are endless, and as time passes, we discover more and more of these possibilities. Many of us strive for financial freedom through blockchain, but one thing that is already guaranteed with decentralization is freedom of finances. Add freedom of speech and freedom of media consumption to the list and we can confidently state that the future looks bright and decentralized.

Totally right, I also suffer some of the things you mention, as some content is not available in my country and the same for other things that are not social networks, the wonderful thing about Hive is that it combines many aspects of life that makes it totally autonomous for a person who suffers the regulations of the most powerful.
