Great write up. One area I think blockchain can help solve inefficiencies is insurance, people can pool risks and make governance decisions through a dao. For example when to pay or decline a claim would be voted on much like proposals.

Problem is insurance is highly regulated around the world and it would probably require significant investment to get it right.

Most life insurance companies started out a long time ago as mutual so this concept isn't so far fetched.

Ahoy! I have a dim view of insurance in general and generally find mainstream insurance companies to be borderline scammers in most cases. A transparent replacement could be interesting, but it would take a lot of planning/design. No-one would want a troll with lots of tokens to be able to decline their insurance payout! (Even though that is pretty much what a lot of mainstream insurers do every day!).

I'm sure there are many blockchain insurance projects in process atm. Even IBM is writing about it: https://www.ibm.com/blogs/blockchain/2021/01/blockchain-to-transform-insurance-value-chain/
