They are learning from their mistakes and it seems they'd succeed in issuing the Diem, as it'd be backed with US dollar, US regulatory might not have their former concerns anymore.

It removes the resistance of Europe, where most of the backlash came from.
The regulators were worried about that project amassing too much of the EURO and being in a position to dictate how it is handled for threat of dumping the token.
Now that is not part of the equation except for the USD. That takes a lot more to gain control so the barometer is much higer.

IMHO, they are right, Facebook has a tendency of getting right or wrong benefits from the situation/s by any means necessary.
What is your expert opinion, what would happen with Diem?

I could be wrong and those might not be the mistakes to begin with, these giant companies and their strategies.
I agree with you this has to happen. I am more interested in an expert point of view about what would be happening in between and after, that would be some drama.
