The Future of Gaming and Virtual Graphics: Nvidia Studios & Omniverse

With around 75% of gamers still utilizing GTX GPUs, the timing is ripe to make the switch to RTX. We are at the beginning of the next digital frontier, in which networked 3D virtual worlds can be developed and built for the purposes of commerce, entertainment, creativity, and even industry, among other things.

Roads are virtually limitless in these worlds, and they can be occupied with businesses, residences, robots, people, factories, and even museums, resulting in an infinite quantity of 3D content to be created. This content will be created by an increasing number of individuals from all over the world who will collaborate to create these amazing virtual environments in the near future.

Heard of Nvidia Studio?

I'm excited to share with the HIVE Community what little I've learned about this fully accelerated platform designed just for creators. Beginning with RTX, which is the most sophisticated GPU architecture available with hardware acceleration for ray-tracing, simulation, and artificial intelligence, as well as Nvidia's high-performance video processors.

The Nvidia Studio software comprises customized drivers plus lots of SDKs that are designed to accelerate more than 200 of the most popular creative apps in the industry. The platform also includes its own studio applications, the most recent of which being the Nvidia Omniverse, that is used for 3D design and collaboration. Geforce RTX studio makers can now use the Nvidia Omniverse, which was just released from beta and is now generally available.

It is extremely difficult to create 3D content since it requires a variety of tools that are not all compatible with one another. As a result, developers are forced to wait for lengthy render periods. The good news is that Omniverse consolidates almost two decades of Nvidia's revolutionary work in graphics, artificial intelligence, simulation, and computation onto a single platform, with the goal of transforming 3D workflows.

The way it works is as follows.

The Omniverse is a virtual area that brings together independent 3D design worlds in a common virtual space. USD (Universal Scene Description) is the language that connects all of the worlds in the Omniverse, and it can be thought of as the "html of 3D worlds."

When creating a scene, 3D artists typically work in a sequential manner across different applications such as 3DS Max (for modeling), Substance Painter (for texturing), and Unreal Engine (for scene arrangement). The only option available to the creator is to repeatedly export and import huge files throughout the process. With "Omniverse Create," the Omniverse platform provides 3D artists with a way to connect their apps and construct an united scene.

The Omniverse allows artists to draw on Nvidia's super powers, such as Physics, which allows them to create actual reality simulations that follow the rules of physics after they have entered the Omniverse. The RTX Renderer can also be used to see the scene in real time as it is being fully retraced or path traced, among other things. A further advantage is that the artists can collaborate from any location on the planet. This allows them to connect their favorite programs into a single shared environment, where any changes made by one designer are immediately mirrored back to the other designer. Working in 3D is similar to working in a cloud-based shared document, except this time in 3D.

Three-dimensional creativity has arrived, and the way we construct virtual worlds will be entirely up to us. With over 40 independent software vendors (ISVs) working together to alter 3D workflows, Nvidia's Omniverse is now capable of connecting to top-tier applications such as 3DS Max, Blender, Maya, Unreal Engine, and many more to come.

Nucleus cloud will make it easier for artists to collaborate and will streamline the sharing of Omniverse scenes, all with the touch of a button.

Online 3D marketplaces are now displaying assets that are ready for use in the Omniverse, which can be viewed via the omniverse launcher. After the recent addition of Mechwarrior 5 and Shadow Warrior 3 assets to the Machinima library, players continue to be amazed by the Omniverse Machinima, which allows players to remix and recreate their own game cinematics using a plethora of game assets and environments.

Audio2face is a groundbreaking artificial intelligence-enabled program that allows you to easily animate a 3D face using only an audio file. Nvidia Studio now supports Blend, Shape, and direct exporting to epics-metahuman, in addition to the previous features.

Nvidia Studio now supports Blend, Shape, and direct exporting to epics-metahuman, in addition to the previous features. It goes without saying that artificial intelligence (A.I.) powered by Nvidia Studio provides new capabilities for developers. Each artist can now perform the tasks previously performed by big teams, and application developers are quickly recognizing the potential of artificial intelligence for content production.

"Adobe Lightroom" incorporates artificial intelligence to swiftly construct detailed masks around subjects, while "Topez labs" video enhanced artificial intelligence makes use of the technology to upscale films while keeping higher levels of detail than typical upscaling algorithms. A.I. is utilized in "Adobe 3D Substance Sampler" to build high-quality, real-time 3D materials from images using the software.

Also included is Canvas (an application that immediately converts brush strokes into photorealistic images), which has recently received an update that allows images to be 4 times higher resolution with more intricate details and the addition of extra materials such as flowers and bushes. The Canvas App is available for download for free at nvidia.com/canvas.

Geforce High Performance Laptops are the fastest growing category of PCs, thanks to gamers and creators. In the last year alone, 35% more RTX laptops were sold, and creators continued to fuel a 3x jump in studio laptop sales.

What are your thoughts on Nvidia's vision for the future of virtual graphics and computer graphics? I believe that things will only get better for gamers and content creators from here on out. What are the chances that HIVE will be integrated into the Omniverse in the near future? Please leave your thoughts in the section below. Thanks
