ListNerds - Incentivized Blockchain-Based Email Marketing
There's so many ways for use to earn here on Hive that it's insane. It's almost hard to keep up with. I've been using ListNerds every day for about a week now and I'm loving it.

ListNerds is incentivized email marketing on the Hive blockchain. The major problem with email marketing is... There's no quality control. The sender doesn't give a shit because they're blasting out hundreds of thousands of emails hoping for a few clicks. The receivers don't give a shit because they just delete the emails anyway or they just get sent to the spam folder. Traditional email marketing only works if the sender is really good at getting people's attention and getting them to click a link. The receiver of the email has to really feel like they're gaining some kind of value from that email. They need to feel like they got it for a different reason than just being on a mass email list. This doesn't go for everyone obviously, I'm just pointing it out because that's how I feel. If I gain nothing from the email marketing, it basically goes in the trash. Same thing with regular mail. Most of it goes in the trash. ListNerds is bringing a different approach where both the sender and receiver earn Hive Engine tokens for every email. Check the whitepaper for the full details of course.
Senders, Receivers, and Stakers all earn CTP and LISTNERDS tokens. This incentivizes people that would have never even considered sending out email marketing message (like myself) to start. This also incentivizes people to open marketing emails they receive because they're going to earn crypto by doing so. Receivers have the choice to upvote or downvote the emails as well. In order for an email to make it to more receivers (ListNerds members) it must receive a minimum of 20 upvotes to become verified. This prevents people from sending out spam or malicious links. It also encourages quality messages, which I know nothing about, so this is a learning and earning experience.
Receivers must read the message and click any link within the email for proof that the email was read. Proof of Mail. Once the receiver reads and interacts with the email they can either upvote or downvote based on the quality of the email. In order to get more voting power, users my stake CTP in ListNerds, so if you have CTP staked on Hive Engine, unstake and restake on ListNerds to maximize earnings.
Users are able to stake both LISTNERDS and CTP. By staking both tokens in ListNerds, they receive a 39% share of all CTP generated daily (based on the amount of CTP staked) and a 40% share of all LISTNERDS generated daily (based on the amount of LISTNERDS staked). That's pretty damn good and it even compounds. Restake your earnings in both CTP and LISTNERDS to increase your share of daily earnings. Talk about passive income.
This creates a sort of email based economy without anyone spending any money. Of course there are upgraded memberships with different benefits, but at the base layer ListNerds is free to use. Everyone here on Hive is used to earning by posting. Now you can earn by posting (emailing), reading, and staking.

Pretty neat new model of sending and receiving email. I'm tired of getting so many emails that I don't even read, and eventually delete. I'll be keeping tabs on this project!

I think its a pretty cool incentives way to earn some crypto. It takes an older marketing method and applies some new reward capabilities to it.

oh thank you for this excellent overview ... I was concerned that it would increase the number of email to my regular email... since i handle it on the site.. that is way better
So as an On-Line marketeer myself, I use PHPlist I was intrigued by this. I have to say, "Clicking on links" is secondary to my campaigns and is mainly used to identify that someone clicked on a link and visited our site. The main goal of my emails is to either sell what is contained within the email or at the very least encourage the recipient to contact us to expand on their requirements.
The only flaw I see is that ultimately you really need recipients to be on the [Hive] blockchain.
Really cool to hear the perspective of someone who does this for a living. I have never done any kind of email marketing so this is just me dipping my toes it. What turned me on to it is that I can earn 2 different cryptocurrencies - CTP and LISTNERDS for send and receiving. That's why you need a Hive account. So you can earn Hive Engine tokens. I think it's more of a feature than a flaw. potentially higher click through rate because receivers know they will at least earn tokens from clicking. As Hive grows, hopefully ListNerds will too.

So I could see it having potential as a spin-off for communities who want to run a mailing list/user group. The only thought is: "Why would you use a mailing list when your community on hive already has a communication feature with posts?" I think it definitely has a place just need to think about how it's utilised and for what sort of content.
What I particularly like is the ability to earn against the emails even if the content of said emails doesn't attract any sales.

When trying to contact a prospect, the best way is to visit the prospect's website, and look for an email address on the contact page or team page. Some sites https://www.skillsyouneed.com/rhubarb/business-outreach-writing.html reveal email addresses in the bio section, but you may not get it in the contact page. For example, if you're reading a blog post by an author, try looking for the email address in the bio section. If the email address is listed there, it is most likely to be in a hyperlinked snippet somewhere on the website.
I came across your post when someone mentioned Listnerds on one of my posts and I searched for information. I can see it has potential for earning crypto, although it sounds like you have to invest in CPT which is something I'm not sure about, but I have taken part in safelists in the past. Which is what this essentially is. The problem with safelists is that you have a group of marketers marketing to marketers. These are people who want to sell to you not buy from you. While the ability to earn crypto is a good twist to this concept, I doubt it will be very effective as a way of marketing your products.
