frens, it's way past due that more wallets support Ledger wallets. With security being a big topic lately with cryptocurrency and NFTs, this is great news.

Coinbase X Ledger

I don't know about you, but I've been using Coinbase Wallet since before it was called Coinbase Wallet. It used to be called Toshi and it was pretty good for what it was. It's definitely evolved a lot over time with support for NFTs, different chains, and now the addition of Ledger support. I'm not the biggest fan of Coinbase as a whole but I do understand that they are one of the biggest on-ramps to crypto from fiat dollars. It started as a basic Ethereum wallet similar to Metamask in the beginning. It isn't connected to your Coinbase account by default, but it can be linked for transfers and such. I use it completely separate and I think you should too, just for security and privacy reasons. Now, they've added yet another layer of privacy and security by adding Ledger wallet support to the Coinbase Wallet Browser extension (hopefully mobile app soon).

They even launched a special edition Ledger Nano X wallet with "coinbase" engraved. The Ledger Nano X is the best hardware wallet I've ever used and I use it on a daily basis. It supports hundreds of different cryptocurrencies and you don't need a desktop pc to use it. You can bluetooth it to your phone to do your transacting via the Ledger Live app which has also continuously gotten better. If I were in the market for a hardware wallet, the Nano X is definitely the best one and one of the cheapest. The normal one is $99 but if you just want the limited edition one with the coinbase engraving, you can throw them another $50.

It really feels like beating a dead horse to talk about crypto security but people continue to have their assets compromised on a daily basis. This means it's important that we continue to stress the importance of security when you custody your own assets. Bank accounts have insurance. Crypto wallets don't. They have private keys, and those keys are yours to protect. It's all on you. Why risk that being compromised when you could spend $99 and secure your assets? Especially when it's as easy and connecting to your phone via bluetooth. You can do all the same stuff you're doing now via Metamask or whatever wallet but with the security of an offline wallet.
