On The Bright Side Of Digital Transformation

The drive to Rustenburg and back to Johannesburg with Daniel, a Huawei representative got us to chat along the way. From our chat, I got to experience how someone can be extremely close-minded and be adamant about it.

With both of us losing interest in the Telecoms industry, Dan shared his other skills with me, and his thought of venturing into farming. From his talk, I could tell he will do well with farming as he has ideas that I don't know about farming and I encouraged him to give them a go.

I felt, it will be okay to share with him I am involved in blockchain technology. So I did and he question what was, a further explanation got Dan fired up.
He asked if I trade Bitcoin, which I don't and my response was no.

Interestingly Dan's dad is an IT personnel, so Dan has heard about Bitcoin and NFTs but he believes they are scams, he just cannot wrap his head around digital land or estate. I asked what is a scam and that question never got an answer.
He pointed out that Bitcoin has unlimited supply and he has a problem with that, and that got me laughing so hard I had to correct him, there will only be 21 million Bitcoin to be mined so it is limited in supply. I asked Dan if he is willing to read so I can share sources with him for proper enlightenment but he declined.

It didn't take long for me to realize there is no point in having a blockchain and cryptocurrency chat with Dan but what I gathered from him was he is threatened by technology. I came to this conclusion because he mention kids these days can't make fire out in the camp, they will not survive, they only spend time online.

I got a glimpse of when someone hates something which we see against Bitcoin, the likes of Warren Buffet amongst others go all out against it and there is nothing you can do to alter that.

It is common to find good and bad sides to a subject, it is left for each to choose what technology will be utilized for. Hive, For Teenagers As Well is an article with a 12-year-old on Hive, the potential for success if Evan utilizes Hive to his advantage is enormous.

Therefore as much as we are going through digital transformation with advancements in technology, jobs are going to be lost, and those that position themselves are going to have jobs.
There are bright sides to digital transformation, it all depends on how we look at it and approach it.

We owe it to ourselves to make Hive great

BTC = crypto for new people.

Since beginning of time for crypto, it has been unlimited supply of copy and paste. From that sense it is unlimited supply :)

99% of crypto die off and add no real value to the space other than pump and dump and leave noobs holding the bag. Isn’t that the definition of scam?

Making people buy into crypto that is of no use other than pump and dump for profit fits the definition of a scam.

There is no one to save us from these scams, not even regulations except ourselves, the way and manner we interact with this space, and the kind of project.

The transformation is happening and I think it also hurts to think about how to live without electricity or the internet. Its weird to see but people will just have to adapt because the technology isn't going away.

We have to adapt and evolve, some like me born in the 80s is not finding it easy to evolve with tech but I have to lol, otherwise I will be left behind.

Everything changes we need knowledge from the past and learning going into the future, even farming methods have changed drastically with modernization, ox plow to tractor...

Some will hang onto the old for as long as they able, many eventually realize change is inevitable. Steam to petrol now electric, perhaps we go full circle and return to steam in a different way in near future, who knows? Inventors are always out there thinking of better, more efficient ways.

I was at Mall of The South last month and saw an electric car charging station for the first time, it just shows how change is happening around us, what we see on TV is not limited to TV or media, they are happening around and we have to evolve with time.

Steam to petrol is now electric, perhaps we go full circle and return to steam differently in the near future, who knows?

True, black and white photography is one, even going for a photo shoot in a studio used to be a thing back then, I see it in malls now there are photo shops where you get photographed.

The electricity issue is just getting worse, are at stage 6 now which is tough for us. Lol the SASSA one is funny but pathetic.

SA has got the resources it just needs togetherness for an excellent running of the country.

Jo'burg much worse off, the amount of hours with electricity available one can only foresee many businesses closing their doors.

We need a complete overhaul starting at the top!

Wow back up North, West Coast was an area my Dad always longed to visit.

Obviously you have done research, I wish you well in the planning and move, not much happening here at the moment for too many.

We will always be in contact on Hive 😇 once you linked up....

Yes, I am originally half-Nigerian, half-Beninese, I was never based in Benin only visits back then but the country looks to be doing fairly okay, and with Home Affairs not granting me my resident permit here after 15 years, there's no better option than to return home. Hopefully, my Telecom career can be revived.

You are one sweet person I've met on Hive from SA, I feel free relating with you so no doubt we will stay in touch on our favorite spot, Hive. It's a pity I was hoping to meet you when I come down to KZN for a job and not busy but the opportunity never came.

Finding a place to feel at home, find employment and live a normal life, without looking over your shoulder all the time. Not having to wait for useless government officials to do the work they paid to do, yes this country has become a disgrace.

Pity the riots happened followed by floods you were almost here for work at La Mercy Mall. Now who knows what is going to happen, you doing the right thing, I wish you well.
