We BlAISED past the second quarter of the year. Through the tough and turbulent times we have continued to stay put as many areas in the world still surfer highly from the corona virus pandemic, despite the halt in most social and economic activities and the various restrictions placed on some activities, we continue to live through the uncertainty and hope that things get better with time. We urge continued support for the sector and adherence to the guidelines set to flatten the infection curve and restore a balance globally.

At Pascal, we have been persistent in maintaining and developing out blockchain technology as well as the managerial aspect of the Pascal coin project. We have not relented a bit in the all-round development of the project. The pandemic unarguably slowed the speed of development a little bit and has also reduced community participation, but not a total stop.

The year is past middle! A new month brings a new wave of optimism and despite the world remaining in this very difficult time, we hope thing gets better with time.

It’s been an interesting run of days and we bring you the major highlights of the past month as it concerns the Pascal blockchain project.

Successful testing for the new AbstractMem library

The AbstractMem library enables the development of simplified data structures by shifting the data storage burden to other alternative means of data storage thereby shifting the data storage burden from the device. This is in another brilliant move to achieve memory friendliness and enable the running of pascal on low end devices.

On our previous update, we announced the commencement of the testing stage of this new development. During the past month, we have done rigorous testing as regards this and we are happy to announce that the AbstractMem library is fit for use!

Further development as regards this will continue, stay tuned!

Creation of an Arabic community and expanding the scope of the Pascal community

We are working hard to expand the Pascal community and contain users from all works of life. We have added language support for several different languages in order to ensure that users with a different language are able to use Pascal blockchain applications.

To further expand our social media communities, we have created a tentative community for Arabic speaking users. The new Arabic community will work with the rest of the community to assist users from this part of the world and simplify the onboarding of users from this part of the world.

Account recovery proposal

For majority of the first and second quarter of the year, the pascal community have been on a long debate as regards the Pascal Account recovery. To maintain the supply of Pascal account (PASA) and pascal coin (PASC) the PIP-0012 contains a proposal to recover dormant pascal accounts after a period of four years and return these recovered accounts and coins to active circulation.

As expected, this proposal was met with some disapproval from the rest of the community, hence the need for a community driven consensus.
In a poll conducted on our discord community, we have reached a decision to recover ONLY empty Pascal accounts after a period of four years.
The development team will thus move with the community’s decision and change the recovery to comply with the community agreement.

As we continue with this odd time in our existence, we urge everyone to stay safe and adhere to social distancing specifications and other guidelines which are expected to sustain safety and slow the rate of infection. Until next time, stay safe!
